Latest Yamaha Digital Sound Projectors from AWE (3/4/2006)

AWE, the exclusive distributor for Yamaha to the UK custom installation trade, has launched its latest range of Digital Sound Projectors, offering impressive multi-channel surround sound all from a single slim speaker.

The Yamaha YSP-1000 and YSP-800 Digital Sound Projectors (DSP) from AWE will complement any flat screen TV installation as an alternative to a full separate surround sound system. They feature sophisticated DSP Technology, generating direct and reflected sound to provide true multi-channel surround sound without the need for a multi-speaker system. Installation is simple as Yamaha's exclusive Intellibeam automatic calibration system ensures high quality multi-channel performance by automatically setting the best angles, levels and frequency response for each sound beam.

Winner of the What Hi-fi? Sound & Vision Award in 2005 for "Technology of the Year", the YSP-1000 comprises 42 separate digital power amplifiers with 40 'sound beam' drivers and two woofers. Controlled via IR signals directly or via the IR in terminal, the YSP-1000 also has an RS-232C interface for the ultimate in control. The more compact Yamaha YSP-800 is winner of the EISA European "Home Theatre Innovation of the Year" 2005-06 Award. It provides 23 individual digital power amplifiers with 21 'sound beam' drivers and two woofers. Both DSP's simply need digital or analogue audio signals to work, reducing unsightly wiring, and have a single button set-up, making installation and configuration easy.
