CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Awards Recognize Outstanding Achievement in the Residential Electronic Systems Industry (17/3/2006)

Changes for the 2006 Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards include new categories and a two-part panel adjudication process

Entering the annual CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards is an excellent tool for increasing the profitability of a residential electronics systems business. The exposure for Electronic Lifestyles(R) Award winners is significant and previous winners report improved credibility and marketing opportunities within their local markets as a result of the awards.

Entries for the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards are now being accepted in the four awards categories. The deadline for each award category is as follows: Designersâ Awards÷May 5, Manufacturersâ Excellence÷May 12, Electronic Systems Technician of the Year÷June 2, and Electronic Systems Contractor of the Year÷June 2. Two new sub categories for the Designersâ Awards include "Best Small Home Theater" and "Best Theme Theater." CEDIA believes these new categories will open the awards process to an even broader array of work within the organization's membership.

"Our new client folders include photography and details regarding the multiple CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards we have received because people like to know that their projects will be done by professionals whose work has been named best in the nation," said Marc Leidig, president of Ambiance Systems in Clifton Park, NY. "If you compare the cost of entering the awards to what you get in return, it's probably a better use of your marketing dollars than what you're doing now."

"Engineered Environments was fortunate to have a photo of its award-winning project on the cover of the 2005 CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles(R) magazine," said Randy Stearns, president of Engineered Environments. "As you can imagine, this really makes a statement to prospective clients and industry partners. With the new entry requirements and judging by select designers and electronic system contractors, winning an Electronic Lifestyle award will truly earn recipients credibility points."

The Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards celebrate achievements in residential electronic systems contracting by honoring CEDIA Members for excellence in design and installation work. The awards are presented at CEDIA EXPO, which will be held in Denver from September 13-17.

Winners of the 2006 Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards will be featured in CEDIA's limited-edition Electronic Lifestyles(R)magazine. This high-quality publication includes multi-page spreads with full-color photography chronicling the winning submissions in each Electronic Lifestyles(R) award category. Winners are also featured in CEDIA's exclusive custom calendar. Both pieces are distributed to throughout the residential electronic systems contracting industry; to architects, builders and interior designers, and to homeowners. They are also available for bulk orders at discounted prices.

The adjudication process for the 2006 CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards has been changed. Two qualified panels will judge on the technical aspect of the project as well as the design aspect of the project. The technical panel is made up of five CEDIA residential electronic systems contractor members. The design panel is made up of five American Institute of Architect (AIA) members.

"CEDIA's Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards are already one of the most prestigious awards programs in the electronic systems contracting industry," said Bill Skaer, president and CEO of Eric Grundelman's Cool A/V who serves as committee chair for the Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards. "The new format and judging process will bring an even higher standard of excellence and credibility to the awards, as well as align the awards process with our outreach efforts."
