IP Homenet demonstrate new switch for home entertainment
systems at Smarthome 2006 (1/3/2006)
Birmingham based communications systems integrator
IP Homenet will be exhibiting a new multi-format switch that delivers
high quality images and sound for entertainment systems in the home,
at Smarthome 2006.
Designed and built by audio and switching
company Smart-e Limited, the new SNX-8x8+ switch is a compact multi-format
matrix switch for entertainment systems incorporating multi-media
points for televisions, DVD players, home cinemas, PCs, telephones
and speakers, all via a single Cat5 cable. IP Homenet's managing
director Frank Mooney said "This new switch is a clever piece of
technology that perfectly compliments our home automation products.
The SNX-8x8+ operates multiple screens without creating an unsightly
'spaghetti junction'. Due to it's adaptability, compact size, affordability
and the fact that it is designed to work on pre-installed Cat5 cabling,
we anticipate that the SNX-8x8+ will become a must-have for specifiers
of high-end home entertainment systems, and we are delighted to
be exhibiting it at the Show".
The SNX-8x8+, delivers professional high
quality images and sound from DVD players, set-top boxes, video
cameras, laptops and PCs, to LCD and plasma TV screens, VGA monitors,
and cinematic projectors. The equipment supports RGBS (Red, Green,
Blue & Syncs), UXGA (Ultra eXtended Graphics Array), YUV (luminance
& colour-difference signals), Y/C (luminance & chrominance) and
CVBS (Composite Video Blanking & Syncs), is Dolby 5.1 compatible
and analogue HD (High Definition) television ready. The switch features
outputs extended over 300 metres of structured cabling, has IR and
RS422 matrix control options and integrated RS232 control of displays.
IP Homenet supplies a wide range of self
assembly and bespoke AV hubs, zone kits, CCTV cameras and sundries
that are easily upgraded to meet emerging technologies. With IP
Homenet 'plug and play' equipment, telephones, PCs, satellite, digital
and cable TV, and CCTV security can be networked to every room in
the home. Visit IP Homenet's stand (stand no. 2412) for a demonstration.
