QED answers the HDMI input dilemma (27/2/2006)

Armour Home Electronics is very pleased to announce the release of two extremely high quality, remote controlled, HDMI switching boxes from QED.

Available in 2-way and 4-way variants, the switching boxes perfectly solve the dilemma faced by an increasing number of consumers, who own more than one 'source' component boasting an HDMI output, but have only one HDMI input on their TV.

Commenting on the new models, Steve Privett, Armour Home Electronics' Technical Director said: "More and more people are investing in high performance HDMI equipped source components because of the obvious improvements this new connecting technology brings to both the picture and sound from home cinema systems. These advantages will further accelerate with the imminent introduction of High Definition television."

He continued, "Naturally, consumers want to get the best from all these source components and that means connecting via HDMI wherever possible. If their TV or home cinema amplifier only has one HDMI input, they are prohibited from achieving this goal. The new QED boxes completely solve this problem by allowing remote controlled switching of up to 4 HDMI inputs, with absolutely no detectable loss of quality."

As to be expected of a QED product, build quality is of the highest order. A small stylish infra-red remote control handset is included, as is the required separate power supply. Dimensions of both the 2-way and 4-way boxes are 171mm x 28mm x 75mm.

The suggested retail prices, including vat, are £175 and £250 respectively and the new switching boxes are available now from QED authorised dealers throughout the UK.
