Screen Research Introduces the CMask (27/2/2006)

The CMask range complements the existing XMask range, making it possible for a larger number of customers to have access to Screen Research's range of fixed screens with masking systems.

Screen Research, recognized for its acoustically transparent projection screens, announces its new range of fixed screens with masking systems: The CMask.

Like the XMask, the CMask creates an authentic cinema effect thanks to its masking systems designed to generate a black border around the projected image. This significantly improves the perceived viewing quality no matter the format.

The simplified finish and mechanical functions of the CMask in addition to the fact that the lateral masks come down from the top of the casing, significantly reduce manufacturing costs thereby making it possible to offer this new product to more customers.

Suggested retail price incl. VAT starting from 4.500 € compared to 7.800 € for the XMask.

The CMask is available in four models (4-way, 2-way lateral or 2-way top/bottom Ð either 16/9 or 4/3 in native format) with ClearPix1 or ClearPix2, and an image width from 2 to 3m depending on the model. Custom sizes are also available on demand. Furthermore, the Black Backing option is proposed with the screens. By using this double layer that has a negligible impact on the acoustical transparency, the contrast is notably improved and it avoids the need for darkening the zone behind the screen.

The CMask will also soon be available in Cinescope (native format 2.35).
