at Smart Home Show 2006 (27/2/2006)
Invision UK to showcase Xperinet Entertainment
Servers - a breakthrough for the Digital Home - in Birmingham at
the Smart Home Show.
The Xperinet System is an easy to control
and operate entertainment server which revolutionises the way homeowners
can collect and manage their growing DVD collections, and will form
the centrepiece of a digital AV home entertainment system
Designed to make your DVD collection easier
and more fun to access, the Xperinet Entertainment Server is a dependable,
affordable and extremely user-friendly solution. Each movie can
be instantly selected by Title, Actor, Director, Genre, censorship
rating and year of release, from anywhere in the home. Cover art
and movie descriptions are also available on screen.
Invision UK will showcase the Xperinet Entertainment
Server at the Smart Home Show (2-5 March 2006, NEC, Birmingham).Visitors
to the Invision UK Stand (No. 2507 in Hall 18) will see how this
unique entertainment system is designed for quick and easy installation
and integration.
"These days even casual viewers find themselves
in possession of growing DVD collections. But where does one store
that ever-expanding library of DVDs? Running your finger along a
shelf full of DVDs is rather old fashioned when we can find any
music we want in seconds on our iPods", explained Steve Beahan of
Invision, Xperinet's distributor in the UK. "Xperinet Entertainment
Servers are changing the way our customers enjoy their DVD collections.
The Xperinet System sets the standard for an entertainment server
that's very reliable and incredibly easy to use, allowing quick
access to your entire movie collection".
There are four different Xperinet models
- the Polaris, Trident, Poseidon and Titan. Each differ in their
hard drive storage capacities and the number of simultaneous, independent
viewing and listening locations they support. The entry-level Polaris,
which will feature at the Smart Home Show in Birmingham, has sufficient
storage for 250 DVDs (expandable to 350 DVDs) and has a suggested
retail price (excluding installation) of £5,950 including VAT.
The other models can provide greater storage,
if required, for larger DVD collections. All models stream video
and audio content over an Ethernet network to a complementary A/V
output decoder - the Taurus Client - for playback. You will need
a Taurus Client for each viewing /listening location.
Once installed, there need be no more arguments
about what to watch or listen to, as different audio and video programmes
can be selected for playback at the same time, at each location
the server supports.
The MIRV Server and Taurus Client can be
configured via an infra-red control using an onscreen display or
an RS-232/IP automation control interface. Interface modules for
AMX(tm) and Crestron(tm) are also available.
