IS China 2006 Gears up for April Showcase in Shanghai Featuring the Latest Solutions from 150 Market Leaders (23/2/2006)

Integrated Systems China (IS China) incorporating InfoComm China will stage its exhibition at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Centre from April 12 to 14 2006. It will be the fourth presentation in the series since InfoComm China was introduced in 2002.

As the definitive industry event, IS China has already attracted some 150 leading manufacturers from America, Europe and Asia to take part in the exhibition. The manufacturers will showcase cutting edge projection technology, display devices, audio technology, projection screens, monitors, control systems, interfacing equipment, home theatre, residential technology and many other related products and services.

The exhibitors include 3D Perception, AMX, Christie Digital Systems, Clarity Visual Systems, Creston, Da-Lite, dnp denmark, DIS, Draper, Eiki, Synelec, Epson, Guangzhou Grandview, Genelec, Jupiter Systems, Projection Design, Mitsubishi, Ningbo GQY, Vtron etc. The exhibition is expected to gross 10,000sqm.

Apart from showcasing the latest solutions, the professional education and training programme has been one of the value-added services provided by the show sponsors. The three sponsors of IS China - Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA), International Communications Industries Association (InfoComm International) and National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) - will put together 18 training and skills upgrading seminars conducted in Chinese. The sessions will explore the latest industry trends, systems and technology, including projection, display, video, acoustics, loudspeaker placement, remote control systems, videoconferencing designs and home technology.

At the same time, the organiser, InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd (IAPL), is creating a special gallery to showcase large venue projection technology which will be employed at mega events such as the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the World Expo in 2010.

Ms Sylvia Phua, Managing Director of IAPL, said: "IS China not only provides the best platform for international manufacturers to penetrate the China market, it also provides local manufacturers with an opportunity to exhibit alongside the international players. There has been a four-fold increase in the number of Chinese manufacturers taking part in the exhibition since its launch in 2002. Some local companies, including Guangzhou Grandview, Ningbo GQY, Vtron, Zhang Jia Gang Red Leaf and others are gradually emerging to become heavyweights in the audiovisual industry in China."

Ms Phua added: "We have intensified our visitor promotion efforts and invited six delegations to the exhibition. The visitors will be from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other big cities, as well as, those from inner mainland cities, such as Ningbo, Chengdu, Xian, Shenyang, Jinan, Changsha and Kunming. The strong interest of these delegations is a testimony of the growing stature of IS China as an important showcase for the industry."

Catering to the growing infocomm needs of various key market segments, two stimulating highlights will be introduced. There will be a forum on the application of audiovisual technology targeted at the education sector, with keynote discussions on use of electronic whiteboard, central control systems and multimedia in the classroom, and other hot topics. There will also be a seminar on large screen display technology.

Mr Terry Friesenborg, CTS, Senior VP of InfoComm International said: "The AV industry integrates many technologies to provide a wide variety of communications solutions to its clients ... As we continue to move further into the information age, the use of networking technology to integrate various systems, devices and services is critical."

He added: "The AV industry must work in conjunction with the telecommunication and information technology industries to meet greater market demand for devices that provide rich media communication with convenience, speed, and functionality. This is indeed an exciting time for the AV industry as we look forward to new opportunities and challenges."

Mr Friesenborg also revealed that InfoComm International would be translating its core certification programmes into Chinese as part of its commitment to delivering industry specific education and certification in China. The Chinese courses will be offered in 2007.

In 2005, 126 exhibitors from Asia, America and Europe gathered at the exhibition. It attracted more than 9,000 professional and trade visitors.
