CEDIA UK Introduces Prestigious Awards (23/2/2006)

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has launched the prestigious CEDIA Awards to recognise excellence amongst its members.

"I am delighted to announce the CEDIA Awards" says CEDIA Chairman, David Hyman. "One of CEDIA's key tasks is to maintain and ensure high standards in custom installation. We know that CEDIA Zone 1 members are engaged in a whole range of superb custom installation projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, extending from one room home cinemas to integrated whole house automation systems. It is, then, entirely fitting that CEDIA rewards the outstanding skills and achievements of its members."

The inaugural CEDIA Awards features six categories. First up is 'Best CEDIA Installation under £20,000', followed by 'Best CEDIA Installation over £20,000 and below £100,000' and finally 'Best CEDIA Installation over £100,000'. These three categories are designed to recognise the quality and innovation in the design and installation skills of CEDIA members at both the lower and upper end of custom installation market. The 'Best Multi-Dwelling Installation' category is designed to reward the talents of CEDIA members working with property developers and house builders. These four Awards will be judged by an expert panel, comprising building industry professionals and journalists from the interior design, architectural and a/v worlds.

The 'CEDIA Award for Best Supplier' is to be judged by an online vote via the CEDIA website (www.cedia.co.uk) open to all CEDIA members and will recognise the top manufacturer or distributor in the industry. Judging criteria will include the standards of service, support, product innovations and training provided to members. A final category, 'Best Stand at CEDIA Expo 2006' will not require a formal entry, and will be judged at Expo itself by the AEO (Association of Exhibition Organisers).

Winners will be announced at this year's CEDIA Expo which takes place at ExCeL London (Training 19-22 June; Expo 20-22 June). Closing date for the four categories where submissions are required is Wednesday 31st May 2006. The on-line vote for Best Supplier will close on Friday 16th June 2006.

The CEDIA Awards is open only to CEDIA member companies.
