Runco's CineWide with AutoScope Technology eliminates
black bars, defines Home Cinema appeal (6/2/2006)
The World's Finest Home Theater Products
Manufacturer Equips Projectors to Display Movies in 2.35:1 Aspect
Ratio without black bars, just as the director intended
Runco International, the world leader in
high-end home theater video display technology, gives birth to new
standards for home cinema excellence by equipping a number of its
renowned DLP projectors with its award-winning CineWide(tm) and
Cinewide with AutoScope(tm) technology. This technology allows Runco
projectors to utilize the full capability of their DMD chips, displaying
movies formatted in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with full resolution.
The new AutoScope(tm) function allows users to control the motorized
anamorphic lens assembly via 12v trigger controls for simple setup
and an improved theater experience. Adding the CineWide(tm) with
AutoScope(tm) option to its projector portfolio allows full resolution
to be realized on both 16:9 and 2.35:1 screens, and is a representation
of Runco's ongoing commitment to deliver pristine cinema picture
quality through its cutting-edge engineering.
Since its initial introduction, Runco's CineWide(tm)
has impressed industry experts with its smooth performance, with
the crowning award coming from CEDIA itself when CineWide(tm) with
AutoScope(tm) received the Electronic Lifestyles(r) Manufacturer's
Excellence Award at CEDIA's annual tradeshow banquet in September
2005. CineWide with Autoscope's popularity has generated similar
sentiment from all areas of the consumer electronics industry with
additional accolades that include being named Electronic House magazine's
Product of the Year for 2005, and the RESI Award from Residential
Systems. The product has also received the "New Product 2005" award
from Sound & Video Contractor magazine, as well as Rave magazine's
"2005 Overall Most Creative New Product" award.
"Developing breakthrough imaging technologies
that give home cinema enthusiasts a movie experience unlike any
other is our mission at Runco International," said Bob Hana, president
of Runco International, Inc. "CineWide(tm), now with AutoScope(tm),
allows viewers to enjoy all of their favorite movies in breathtaking
high-definition, particularly those filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1
aspect ratio. It eliminates annoying black bars to enhance widescreen
viewing and, with AutoScope(tm), resolution is maximized for both
2.35:1 and 16:9 images."
Each Runco projector equipped with CineWide(tm)
with AutoScope(tm) is enhanced not only with a new lens configuration
but also with software, which is programmed to ensure uncompromised
widescreen reproduction of movies originally filmed in the CinemaScope
2.35:1 format. Through a combination of electronics and optics,
each projector is able to take advantage of every pixel on its DMD
chips, thereby producing a 2.35 image with full resolution. Regardless
of the video source used, these projectors maximize clarity, color
saturation and contrast of all source material. Each projector is
also able to fully maintain all high-definition resolution or upgrade
pictures to virtual high-definition for widescreen projection.
Runco's CineWide(tm) and CineWide with Autoscope(tm)
technology represent the next evolution in true cinema-grade widescreen
performance for the home. This breakthrough technology delivers
a unique cinema experience providing widescreen entertainment the
way the director intended-with no black bars! Runco International,
the company that gave birth to Home Theater in 1981, now gives birth
to Home Cinema with this exclusive technology.
