Shows Cat5 Audio Video Distribution Products at ISE 2006 (6/2/2006)
1166 Matrix Switcher and 1176 Router
The Model 1166 High Definition DVI/Component
AutoSelector(TM) complements a wide array of home theater signal sources,
video displays and audio systems. It performs selection of up to
six input sources by infrared control, by a unique AutoSelection(TM)
process, RS-232 signals, or by manual selection. These inputs may
be DVI or component video and digital or analog audio, or combinations
of these signal types, all delivered to the viewer with their original
vividness, brightness and clarity. A special feature of the Model
1166 is its built-in Component-to-DVI converter, which enables the
DVI output to be active regardless of the type of video available
at the selected input.
The functionality of Model 1166 can be greatly
enhanced by adding one or more Model 1176 High Definition Cat 5
Matrix Routers, each of which allow up to six remote component video
outputs with digital and analog audio. Remote Wallplates (Model
9878) allow individual source selection by IR remote control; the
output of each Wallplate can also be controlled by the Model 1166.
Professional venues, such as clubs and restaurants,
can also benefit by using Model 1176 to send selectable video and/or
audio to remote locations. But in applications where all displays
carry the same content, the Model 1170 High Definition Cat 5 MultiDriver(TM)
Expander drives multiple Wallplates with the same program content
as the 1166 main output.
9860 Series Category 5 Distribution Amplifiers
The 9860 Series of Distribution Amplifiers
employs Category 5 UTP cable to transmit audio and video long distances
and distribute the output to multiple television monitors or projectors.
An adjustable electronic equalizer compensates for the normal losses
of Cat 5 cable, making the video performance of this system independent
of cable length up to 1000 feet.
The home-run architecture of the 9860 Series
simplifies distribution systems by allowing multiple copies of the
signal to originate at the head end, making maintenance and remodeling
less confusing. The 9860 Series amplifiers accept digital audio,
two pairs of analog audio, and composite and component video. Inputs
from the source and outputs to the displays are on color-coded RCA
jacks.
Depending on the number and type of signals
to be distributed, either two or three lengths of Cat 5 cable are
needed per bus run. Automatic termination eliminates any need to
manually terminate unused RJ-45 (Category 5) jacks.
9870 Series Residential Category 5 HDTV Distribution
System
The 9870 Series allows HDTV signals to be
distributed throughout the home from a single source. Component
video (YPbPr), analog stereo audio, and digital audio (coaxial)
can be included in each two-cable Cat 5 pathway. By connecting IR
remote control systems to the 9870 system, users can easily control
the source equipment from other rooms in the house. IR receiver
and emitter products are not included with the 9870 Series.
The 9870 Series is comprised of the Model
9871 RCA-to-Category 5 Driver and the Model 9878 Wallplate. These
products enable distribution of audio, video and IR control signals
on Cat 5 cable runs of up to 1,000 feet. The buffered Cat 5 bus
outputs on each 9871 drive one or two 9878 Wallplates. To expand
output capacity of the system, connect together an unlimited number
of Drivers using Kit 46 (or high quality RCA patch cables). The
9878 offers a Wallplate format to fit a standard two-gang electrical
box. DC power for each Wallplate is supplied through the Cat 5 cable
from the 9871Ős power supply.
In addition to the Cat 5 outputs, the 9871
RCA bus output may be used as a pass-through output for a nearby
HDTV or home theater.
