Blu-ray Player, Newest Series of DVD Recorders and
Home Theater Systems Underscore LG's Growing Reputation for Innovation
and Design (31/1/2006)
Led by its Blu-ray high-definition player,
super-multi DVD recorders and stylish home theater systems, LG Electronics
today unveiled its latest lineup of digital audio/video innovations
at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Demonstrating its leadership and commitment
to developing the most innovative digital audio and video products
available, LG's home entertainment products for 2006 are designed
to meet the needs of the growing number of consumers seeking premium
home entertainment options, and underscore the company's commitment
to growing its brand in the U.S. market. These products, many of
which were honored with 2006 CES Innovations Awards, are on display
this week at the show -- Booth #8214, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention
Center.
AT YOUR SERVICE: DVD PLAYERS AND DVD RECORDERS
LG's new DVD players and recorders are sure
to take the home entertainment experience to an entirely new level
-- delivering enhanced video and audio, and providing innovative
and user-friendly recording capabilities.
To help reduce the DVD recording complexity
consumers face, LG expanded its line-up of next-generation super-multi
DVD recorders, which record to any DVD blank media format available.
With support for DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD-RAM and even DVD+R Dual
Layer blank media discs, home recording has never been easier.
LG's RC199H Super-Multi DVD Recorder and
VCR Combi with 1080i up- converting HDMI output can record and play
all DVD formats and includes an intuitive "one-touch dubbing" feature
which allows VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS transfer of non-copy-protected
video at the touch of a button. Its Dual DV (1394) Recording feature
provides convenient connectivity for recording from digital camcorders
directly to either DVD or VHS.
One of the most stylish products for 2006
is the 1080i up-conversion DVD player (DN191N). With a slim design
and an all-digital HDMI audio/video output, this powerful DVD player
is capable of up-converting standard- definition DVDs to a high-definition
1080i resolution, providing crisp, clear and life-like images for
the latest HDMI-equipped TVs. This player also includes a highly
adaptable 14-in-2 memory card slot for enjoyment of photos from
just about any digital camera. With one of the world's slimmest
and shortest depth designs (1.37 and 9.4 inches respectively), the
DN191N will be available in the first quarter of 2006.
NEXT-GENERATION: BLU-RAY PLAYER AND HOME
NETWORKING
TV broadcasting is going digital. Demand
for high-definition TVs is exploding. And consumers increasingly
expect greater realism and better image quality in visual entertainment.
LG's Blu-ray Disc (BD) Player (BD199) delivers that and much more,
incorporating the best features of today's high- definition (HD)
product and adding new capabilities to greatly enhance functionality.
LG's BD Player marks a new standard for next-generation optical
systems that delivers brilliant, high-definition performance.
The product plays Blu-ray discs; the new
format of blue-violet laser BD- ROM discs for the ultimate in high-definition
video performance. Blu-ray discs can store 1080p resolution video
showing vivid detail, exactly matching the new HDTV screens that
have 1080p horizontal resolution. The LG BD Player also offers seamless
playback of the highest video quality discs as well as Blu-ray's
advanced features, such as easy AV navigation and interactive functions.
Planned for second-quarter 2006, its hi-tech-chic design complements
the technology within the unit.
LG's Digital Media Recorder (LRM-519), launched
in fourth-quarter 2005, continues to turn heads with its recording
and home networking capability. The first combination DVR/DVD recorder
powered by Windows(R) Media Center Technologies, the LRM-519 features
a 160-hour recording capacity DVR with access to the Microsoft(R)
Program Guide service. The Digital Media Recorder gives consumers
the freedom to enjoy more entertainment where and when they want
it as they can watch, record, and pause live TV or burn DVDs of
their favorite TV shows. Additionally, the unit can conveniently
integrate into a home network to share TV content, photos and music
with their Windows XP and Windows XP Media Center Edition-based
PCs.
CREATING THE EXPERIENCE -- HOME THEATER SYSTEMS
For enthusiasts seeking the ultimate digital
theater experience at home and the best design to show it off, LG
will introduce a number of home theater systems in its 2006 product
lineup, including the stylish Flat Speaker Home Theater System (LH-T755).
The 1080i up-conversion DVD player and 700W output complements its
flat speakers, which can be floor standing or wall mountable. The
LH-T755 will be available the first quarter of 2006.
Another convenient new home theater option
is the LH-E9674, a 2.4GHz digital wireless-ready five-disc DVD Player
home theater system that incorporates an XM radio-ready tuner, HDMI
1080i up-conversion technology and a powerful 1,000 Watt 5.1 speaker
system. With the addition of an optional wireless accessory kit,
either the LH-E9674 or the single-disc LH-T9654 wireless-ready home
theater systems can enhance the surround sound experience without
the inconvenience of having to install cables from the main unit
to the rear speakers. The wireless-ready home theater systems will
be available in April and June, respectively. Additionally, in March
2006, LG will introduce Micro CD and DVD player systems, providing
stylish and simple three- way speaker systems that still pack a
punch.
