Screen Innovations Viságe Screen Allows for Projector Use in Bright Light Environments (31/1/2006)

Stand J42, ISE 2006

Screen Innovations, a manufacturer of premium residential and commercial theater projection screens, has received critical acclaim with the release of its new Viságe front projection screen. The Viságe screen's front projection technology offers a patented filter that allows for viewing in the brightest of environments. This new technology has garnered applause and positive feedback from the industry press as well as from many of Screen Innovation's dealers across the country, who are now completing the first installations of this remarkable projection screen product.

"We new we had a winner when we rolled out the Viságe front projection screen," said John McCumber, chief executive officer of Screen Innovations. "The Viságe screen adds a powerful tool to any Electronic System Contractor's equipment offerings and allows our dealers to better serve their clients needs by being able to specify front projection systems regardless of the amount of ambient light in the client's home or commercial property."

The new Viságe screen has single-handedly created a new market for front projectors in both the residential and commercial arenas. Being able to capture full color and contrast images in brightly lit environments was unheard of just several months ago. But thanks to the patented technology incorporated in Screen Innovation's Viságe screen, projectors can now come out of the dark to find a whole new set of applications that appeal to clients at home or at work.

According to The Perfect Vision magazine in its December issue, "The Screen Innovations Viságe represents the next step in front-projection screen technology. By absorbing light from any source not directly in front of it, the Viságe can be used to surprisingly good effect in a wide variety of lighting environments." The product was selected as one of The Greatest Technological Breakthroughs.

One of the first residential projects to incorporate the Viságe screen was recently installed by Audio Video Integrators of Cedar Falls, South Dakota. Jerry Cook commented, "When our guys installed the Viságe screen, it was the best opportunity to see the product in action in a 'real-world' application. The product is doing a phenomenal job... very impressive! Our client was pleased and couldn't be happier about being now able to use his cinema during the day...kudos to Screen Innovations!"

Audio Video Integrators installed the Viságe screen at Workplace Technology Center, a commercial custom installation firm, which specializes in boardrooms. The president of Workplace Technology Center, Joe Zueger, was so impressed with the Viságe's performance that he's in the process of becoming a Screen Innovations dealer. Zueger stated: "The install went very well, and the screen looks really good.

It's certainly usable during the day, as I watched the Target Challenge the first Sunday after the product was installed. I plan to install several of these fantastic Viságe screens in our commercial operation- They're perfect for boardroom settings."

Screen Innovations' front projection Viságe screen takes projectors out of the dark by enabling a realistic, big-screen film experience in the brightest of environments. Through a patented filter, Viságe absorbs incidental light from windows and lights to achieve 10 times the contrast of ordinary screens. As a result, the projected image is virtually unaffected by ambient light. A highly versatile product with extraordinary capability, the Viságe sets the stage for unprecedented viewing in any environment, both commercial and residential.
