Arcam's rLead Offers Complete Integration Between its Solo Music System and iPod (25/1/2006)

The new Arcam rLead fits all Solos old and new and offers complete iPod integration, remote control and info display.

- One stop connection - iPod to Solo
- Display iPod info on Solo display
- High quality line level audio connection
- Control iPod from Solo remote
- Charge iPod whilst connected

There should be no doubt that the Apple iPod is the world's favourite portable music player. More and more music lovers are using the iPod to carry their music but are often limited to cheap accessory speakers to play it back in the home.

Arcam's Solo music system has gained a worldwide reputation for being the best sounding single box music system ever made. Now, with the new Arcam rLead, it will become the perfect way to playback from the iPod too.

In a clever usage of interface technology already built into the Arcam Solo, Arcam have developed the £60.00 rLead which uses the dock connector found on the bottom of iPod to communicate directly with Solo.

- the audio output is routed directly from the line level output of the iPod to the Solo using RCA plugs
- control of the iPod from the Solo remote control is enabled by rLead connecting to the Solo's RS232 socket, which feeds text to the Solo's front panel display
- rLead allows the iPod to be charged while connected to Solo using a USB plug linked to an Apple plug top power supply or other USB device

Control of the music is simple, as the central control keys on the Solo operate the iPod in the same manner as the iPod's own control wheel. Listings of music by Artist, Genre, Album and Track are all available as well as feedback on transport controls such as Play, Stop Fast Forward and Rewind.

Available in stores now.

the rLead's recommended retail price is £60.00.
