projectiondesign Shows Action! model three 1080 true HDTV single chip DLP front projector (11/1/2006)

Stand E16, ISE 2006

The new projectiondesign Action! model three 1080 is the first true HDTV single chip DLP(TM) front projector. Based on the highly acclaimed Action! model three home cinema projector, it features the new 0.95" 1080p DarkChip3(TM) DMD(TM) by Texas Instruments(R), with true 1920x1080 resolution. The Action! model three 1080 uses patented DuArch(TM) technology with two lamps, two colour wheels and a dual illumination architecture, for unprecedented image quality.

Unlike any of its competition, it has enough power available to fill any practical screen size with high resolution images, still reaching recommended brightness levels. The user configurable brightness output allows matching of desired At the same time, the Action! model three 1080 can be configured to achieve true optical contrast of 7500:1, which, unlike competing dynamic aperture systems can show full brightness and black levels at the same time - without white or black compression and loss of detail.

The Action! model three 1080 has six user interchangeable lenses available, covering a range from 0.75 - 6.5 : 1. All lenses are fully shiftable, and use very high quality aspherical lens elements with low dispersion glass for very high inter-contrast images. Using two large gamut, 7-segment colour wheels that eclipse the entire REC 709 HDTV colour gamut standard, colours are incredibly saturated and balanced, for a stunning display. This is aided by using Texas Instruments' BrilliantColor technology.

The Action! model three 1080 makes use of the new Texas Instruments(R) DDP3020 driver circuitry for driving the DMD(TM). Using two drivers that each are 40% faster than the previous generation, performance is boosted in all areas - greater colour depth with true 10-bit processing, less motion artefacts and improved detail. The new drivers also feature 20-bit per colour gamma correction.

The Action! model three 1080 comes with a very high performance, broadcast quality, linked video processor, the Crystalio II. Specially made for projectiondesign by Pixel Magic Systems, it features a complete set of inputs and outputs, including HD-SDI, HDMI and DVI, as well as all normal analogue video connections. It features the VXP(TM) (Visual Excellence Processing) video processing engine by Gennum. The VXP(TM) processor features image processing such as TruMotionHD(TM) 1080i to1080p adaptive de-interlacing for optimal image sharpness and resolution, FineEdge(TM) dynamic directional interpolation to eliminate jaggy artefacts found in traditional de-interlacing algorithms, FidelityEngine(TM) image enhancements for removal of unwanted noise and improved detail and uncompromised image quality as well as RealityExpansion(TM), true 10-bit image processing for eye-catching natural imagery.

The Crystalio(TM) II uses a single link to the Action! model three 1080 - a self adapting high resolution, long distance DVI interface. Standard

DVI-cables can be used without loss of signal quality, which eases installation needs tremendously.

Designed to go into professional small screen cinemas as well as home cinemas, it is a perfect choice for post production houses as well, with it's dedication towards true, high quality HDTV reproduction.
