EIB controls AV system via DKT's FreeWay (9/1/2006)

Stand G12, ISE 2006

New for 2006 is the EIB tool set that is now included in the DKT FreeWay AV system controller. Those familiar with the EIB (European Installation Bus) system will know that the options available to integrate these networks into private and commercial AV systems are very few and those that do exist are limited in their flexibility and functionality. The FreeWay opens the doors to EIB system designers to allow full custom integration.

The tool set includes a new hardware module that fits to the EIB slot in the FreeWay. The updated firmware fully supports all the EIB protocols and integrates them into the FreeWay's unique 'Event Matrix'. This means that the full capability of the FreeWay to control AV systems over the internet, via RS232, RS422 and RS485 ports, Infrared and logic inputs is now available to the EIB integrator.

The standard FreeWay has always included its own built-in web server. This too is available to the EIB integrator providing a very cot effective way to control an EIB network from a LAN connection or over the internet.

Typical applications include visualisation of lighting controls, heating and security. The EIB networks also support smoke detection, weather stations and blind control. The whole package will give clients a high degree of personal comfort for very little outlay. For the integrator, all this can be managed through the open FreeWay scripting process providing limitless functionality. There are no locked doors in a FreeWay system, for either the integrator or the most demanding client wish list.

The FreeWay has successfully replaced many traditional control products over its three year history. With the advent of the EIB tool set that unique ability to control any product has opened up to the EIB systems designer.
