AMX Set To Take The Lead At Integrated Systems Europe
(3/1/2006)
Stand E17, ISE 2006
AMX, world leaders in the design and manufacture
of advanced residential and commercial automated control systems,
will be launching a number of new products at the Integrated Systems
Europe Exhibition, which takes place in Brussels on 1-3 February
2006. This follows overwhelming response to the company's latest
product introductions at Cedia UK in June and the 100% Detail design
exhibition in September. This autumn AMX unveiled new widescreen
10" and 5" Modero touch panels, the elegant Mio Modero Series of
keypads, the R-1 hand-held remote control, new MAX digital content
servers and revolutionary software, VisualArchitect, to take the
design and application of integrated systems to the next level.
These products will also make their ISE debut,
alongside the very latest developments being launched at the show.
The Modero 10" was Introduced to satisfy
the market's need for an affordable, mid-sized touch panel, and
benefits from the tradition of AMX's best selling 10.4" Colour LCD
TiltScreen panel with the latest functionality delivered by the
Modero range.
The adoption of the 16 x 9 widescreen format
creates substantial screen space for easy accommodation of graphics,
icons and video windows, while keeping its physical size to a minimum.
This clever combination makes the panel the ideal choice for desktop
applications and for environments where space is critical but maximum
screen space is needed.
The 5" Modero widescreen is AMX's smallest,
feature-rich, touch panel, offering the same advanced features and
functionality as the company's existing Modero panels, but in a
smaller, more discrete form. The 5" Modero is the perfect solution
for home foyers, hallways, kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms and
small meeting rooms.
The Mio Modero Series includes four keypad
models - Classic, Prestige, Elite and Attachˇ - offering the versatility
to address a range of control needs, from simple to multi-function,
in both commercial and residential markets. The sleek and elegantly
designed Elite and Attachˇ models feature an innovative "people
sensor" that lights up the icons on the keys in response to a person's
hand nearing the unit. The icons also change colour when pressed.
The Mio Modero R-1 remote control is an ideal
solution for residential environments where infrared control of
a specific number of integrated devices is required. It has been
developed in direct response to customer requests for a remote control
that is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the palm of
the hand and complements current AMX systems and control technologies.
MAX-HT content servers are the world's first
multimedia servers engineered specifically for direct placement
in acoustically demanding home cinema environments. The MAX Audio/Video
Player (AVP) is the industry's first product to combine an Audio/Video
Module (AVM), which displays content from a multimedia server, with
a high-end DVD player for local viewing.
With its aesthetic styling and silent operation,
MAX-HT is the industry's first server designed specifically for
a visible equipment rack, table or credenza. It offers all of the
features and capabilities the market has come to expect from MAX
servers, including custom playlists, quick searching, on-demand
video and simultaneous viewing and/or listening.
The MAX AVP includes a high-end DVD player,
enabling whole home video and audio distribution and local playback
of individual DVDs and CDs. It is used to decode audio and video
in multiple zones throughout the home and is engineered as an audio/video
content playback module to work in conjunction with the full line
of MAX-MMS Integrated Content Servers.
The MAX AVP comes with its own remote control
and provides four video outputs - component video output, composite
video, S-Video and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) -
ensuring compatibility with a wide variety of display devices.
AMX's new software additions include VisualArchitect
and AMX Amenities. VisualArchitect is a revolutionary new design
software that allows designers and programmers to graphically design
and program a system in a fraction of the time, using simple 'drag
and drop' screen icons. Not only does the software design the entire
control system, it automatically creates the touch panel designs
and wiring schematics.
AMX Amenities has been developed for multi-dwelling
buildings, such as apartment blocks, hotels and resort complexes.
It enables an AMX control system to access local service providers,
such as leisure facilities, entertainment venues and retailers from
the comfort of the user's own home. In addition to enhancing the
'product offer' for tenants and guests, the Amenities solution also
provides hotel/building operators with a choice of exciting new
revenue streams.
The system offered by AMX allows architects
and developers to integrate external services into the design of
their building, enabling hotel or building operators to provide
added value services to guests or apartment owners by means of their
own, easy-to-use touch screen panel interfaces. The touch panel
enables users to book a round of golf and reserve a tee-off time,
order a taxi, arrange dry-cleaning, make a reservation in a restaurant
or book tickets for the theatre.
