Adagio from Crestron Plays the Right Tune (21/12/2005)
Crestron has launched Adagio, a new series
of entry-level home entertainment products that combine outstanding
performance with straight-from-the-box functionality. Specifically
targeted at consumers taking their first step into the world of
multi-room audio and home entertainment, Adagio is affordable and
requires no programming; the perfect introduction to Crestron's
award-winning Total Home Technology solutions.
Adagio is a true plug-and-play solution that
consists of several products including whole house audio distribution,
home entertainment system, digital audio server and audio room expander.
Streamlined and stylish, these individual Adagio items can be integrated
with Crestron keypads or LCD panels for expanded control. In addition,
capabilities can be widened further still to include iPod interfaces
on touchpanels, lighting and HVAC control for an ultimately impressive
and satisfying integrated solution.
"The launch of Adagio is a new departure
for Crestron," says Robin van Meeuwen, Managing Director of Crestron
UK. "We've been looking at this type of solution for a while, but
we think now is the right time for Crestron to enter this market.
The reception at CEDIA was tremendous and it's already clear that
our network of dealers appreciate the competitive price point and
no-fuss installation. When you add this to our trademark performance
and bullet-proof reliability, you know you have a winner."
The Adagio Audio Distribution system (AADS)
can distribute six stereo audio sources to six zones (enough to
satisfy the majority of requirements) via 12x45W channels of audio.
These six sources include four external stereo audio inputs with
added loop-through for expansion, as well as two internal sources
from independent AM/FM and XM satellite radio tuners.
The Adagio Audio Server (AAS) can also be
added as a source, providing full control of the music library right
from the front panel without any programming or configuration. Truly
plug-n-play, the AADS will immediately recognize the Crestron audio
server. No programming, PCs or touchpanels are necessary for system
set-up or control. All functionality is easily accessible directly
from the front panel, and the intuitive LCD display makes it easy
to use.
The Adagio Entertainment System (AES) expands
on the functionality of the AADS. The AES offers additional sources
and control ports. The AES features 10 looping stereo audio inputs
distributed to 6 rooms. The AES also offers 6 pre-amp outputs that
can be set as variable or fixed. AES provides expanded control capability
additional IR and RS 232 ports, and adding four digital inputs to
receive motion detectors and power sensors, and four relays for
shades, drapes and lifts.
Crestron also offers the Adagio Audio Expander
(AAE) for applications that demand more than six audio zones. Up
to three audio expanders can be added to an Adagio system for a
total of 24 independent zones. The AAE also provides 10 additional
loop-through stereo inputs and another 12 - 45W channels of audio.
