Jamo debuts i300 hi-fi quality iPod-compatible Home
Stereo System (1/12/2005)
Jamo is proud to announce the i300, a stand-alone
powered subwoofer/satellite speaker system that turns your iPod
into the heart of a fully-fledged home entertainment system, offering
true hi-fi quality performance.
It's a big boast but the Jamo i300 is well-equipped
to meet expectations. Comprising a iPod control dock, a powerful
active subwoofer plus two compact satellite loudspeakers this attractively-styled
package comes with a long-range radio frequency remote control...
so you can control the system, your iPod (and your tunes) from another
room.
But this 2.1-channel system's versatility
extends far beyond filling your room with tunes stored on your iPod.
The control dock (which charges your iPod too)is also fitted with
an extra auxiliary input on its rear panel so that you can hook
up your computer, portable DVD player or games console to the system.
Still got another source that you want to hook up? No problem -
there's yet another input on the subwoofer itself.
Setting up the system is simplicity itself.
A new Universal iPod 'well' means that we can guarantee that you'll
be able to use your dock-able iPod (non-dockable 1st/2nd generation
iPods can be hooked up via the auxiliary input).
Operating the system is fun too. Turn the
volume control in the control dock and the volume light-bar indicator
gets brighter. A simple but bizarrely appealing touch. The remote
control, meanwhile, allows you skip backwards and forwards through
and from track to track, pause the music and change the volume.
How can we guarantee hi-fi quality sound.
Using solidly constructed 2-way satellites helps. The A 102 speakers
supplied with this system are magnetically-shielded boxes - finished
in high-gloss white - that can be wall or table-top mounted. These
little marvels feature a precision-engineered 76mm/3in co-axial
driver that delivers truly pin-point sonic imaging.
What's more, the subwoofer is just as capable
with a 150 Watt high-efficiency Class D amplifier powering a 6.5in
bass driver, all housed in a solid but very compact reflex-ported
enclosure.
Who's going to buy the Jamo i300? Anybody
who wants to make more of the music they've lovingly stored on their
iPod. Where's it going to end up? Bedrooms, college dorms, studies,
home offices... even music mixing desks: the possibilities for the
i300 are endless.
