Toshiba's Home Cinema Projector Range - Making Light
Work (28/11/2005)
The MT700: Toshiba flagship HD-ready DLP
projector, the MT700 caters for the most demanding of users, offering
unparalleled picture quality and connectivity.
The MT700 is ideal for displaying HD signals
with its native 1280 x 720 resolution and HDMI (High Definition
Multimedia Interface) compatibility. An impressive 315-inch (diagonal)
image is possible while Faroudja DCDi(tm) processing and an O+ Scaler
ensure fast moving sequences are reproduced accurately and clearly.
Home cinema specialists looking for the best
possible colour reproduction will be glad to see five component
BNC (Bayonet Neil-Concelman) connectors. These allow a video source
to be split into three different colours (Red, Green, Blue) whilst
at the same time providing separate channels for horizontal and
vertical picture synch. As picture synch is normally controlled
via one of the RGB channels, using BNC connectors will provide the
projector with a cleaner signal which results in a far better picture
quality.
Couple this with a 2500:1 contrast ratio
and 6-segment colour wheel and the MT700 produces a picture with
superb realism and depth.
An ultra low 28dB operating noise provides
uninterrupted movie watching while component and S-Video inputs
are available for increased versatility.
The MT700 is now available below £1,700 inc.
VAT, making it one of the best value for money projectors in its
category.
The MT400: The days of high-quality DLP Home
Cinema projectors being unaffordable are over thanks to Toshiba's
latest dedicated 16:9 DLP home cinema projector with a sub-£1,000
price tag.
This affordable home cinema projector has
been designed and configured specifically for the consumer market.
Thanks to the acclaimed Matterhorn 576P DMD(tm) chip from TI, its
native Wide PAL resolution (1024 x 576) perfectly matches the format
of our European broadcast TV and DVD images, thus avoiding the need
to rescale and thereby delivering exact and undistorted pictures
from the source.
Its 3000:1 contrast ratio and 6-segment colour
wheel produce exceptional picture quality and life-like tones, while
the TrueVision De-Interlacer and Scaler ensure a smooth, enhanced
visual performance.
The MT400 features excellent connectivity,
including component video, S-Video and composite video inputs for
increased versatility. An all digital DVI (Digital Visual Interface)
connector is also included that is HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia
Interface) compatible via an adapter. Both HDMI and DVI have the
capacity to support high definition video formats, 720p, 1080i and
even 1080p.
The MT400 has the looks to match its performance
with a stylish silver and pearl exterior to complement any home,
while the low operating noise will ensure the projector remains
unobtrusive when in use.
Weighing just 2.8kg the MT400 is highly portable
and can be easily transferred between rooms. Its lightweight design
is coupled with compact dimensions (298x101x275mm) so it is also
easy to store when not in use.
