Toshiba Offers DVD Models to Fulfil Every Need (28/11/2005)

Toshiba's latest DVD line up includes DVD recorders, DVD/VCR combis, portable DVD players and stand-alone DVD players with increased functionality and stylish looks to suit every need.

DVD RECORDERS

* RD-XS34 (160GB Hard disc)
* RD-XS24 (160GB Hard disc)
* D-VR15 (DVD/VCR Combi recorder)
* D-R150 (Standalone recorder)

Toshiba's latest multi-drive format HDD recorders, the RD-XS34 and RD-XS24, are packed with features including PAL Progressive and component video outputs, Timeslip recording and a 32 event/2 month timer. The RD-XS34 also includes DV-input and Satellite Control. The generous 160GB hard disc drive allows up to 272 hours of recording and the 'Easy Navi' function on the RD-XS34 provides simple one button access to all the operations users need to playback, record or edit.

The D-R150 and D-VR15 are also multi-drive format models equipped with Timeslip recording, PAL Progressive and component video outputs. Both recorders are JPEG and MP3 compatible and for maximum user choice, the D-R150 features a 32 event, 2-month timer (the D-VR15 has a 12 event, 1 month timer).

PORTABLE DVD PLAYERS

* SD-P2700
* SD-P1600

This year Toshiba has launched two highly successful portable DVD players, the award winning SD-P1600 and step-up model, the SD-P2700.

The SD-P2700 has a 22cm SVGA screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution, which can be rotated 180 degrees for flexible viewing. The player includes component video input, for connecting to other AV equipment such as a camcorder, dual headphone outputs and a 31/2 hour battery life. Further features include: DivX playback, a built-in 3-in-1 memory card reader (SD, MMC, Memory Stick) for viewing digital images and 2 channel DVD-Audio playback.

The stylish SD-P1600 houses an A-Si QVGA LCD panel with an 17.5cm screen size and 480 x 234 resolution. The player features 3D virtual surround sound, giving the illusion that sound is coming from behind the user, dual headphone outputs and 3 hour battery life. It can also playback JPEG picture discs and MP3 files recorded to CD-R.

DVD/VCR COMBIS

* SD-26VB

The SD-26VB combines a Nicam VCR with DVD player. PAL Progressive scan, component video output and PDC (Programme Delivery Control) are all included, and the SD-26VB can also playback JPEG picture discs and MP3 files recorded to CD-R.

DVD PLAYERS

* SD-350E
* SD-150E

The SD-150E and flagship SD-350E both incorporate PAL Progressive and component video outputs and feature a slimline design with hot stamp finish. In addition, MP3 and a JPEG picture viewer come as standard on both models. The SD-350E is HDMI compatible allowing image quality to be scaled up to 1080i to fit the increased resolution of an HD ready screen. This flagship model also has the ability to playback DivX movies recorded to CD-R/-RW discs.
