LG Introduces the 71" 71PY10 - the Largest Commercialised
Plasma TV (23/11/2005)
LG Electronics proudly introduces its super-large
71-inch Plasma Display, the world's first and largest commercialized
product of its kind. LG overcame technological difficulties to successfully
implement 1080p full high-definition (1920 x 1080) into the world's
first 71-inch 16:9 Plasma TV. This technology was even considered
impossible for Plasma TV when the company began to develop it.
As well as being fully HD with HDMI, the
set also carries LG's famous XD Engine, for ensuring pictures of
the highest quality, as well as a plethora of other technologies.
LG Electronics plan to sell the 71-inch Plasma TV through targeted
marketing and order-based production process.
This breakthrough was a great impact on the
flat panel display industry. The Designers of the 71-inch plasma
TV added extra character to the break through product by creating
a luxurious gold plate model. The special model not only decorated
the display itself with 24-K gold, but also its package items; a
home theatre system and a terrestrial digital broadcast receiver.
This super large Plasma carries with it a
super large price tag! Retailers have indicated to LG that they
believe the LG 71gold plated PY10 will sell for a price in the region
between 40k - 50k GBP".
