Sony Introduces DVP-NS91000ES Combination DVD/SACD/CD Player (23/11/2005)

The Sony DVP-NS91000ES combination DVD/Super Audio CD/ CD player sits within Sony's ES range of Hifi components with a reputation for excellent quality and performance.

The DVP-NS91000ES is the first combination player in the ES range to include an i.Link (IEEE 1394) interface digital output for the DSD signal. The NS9100ES also represents major advances in technology with the inclusion of HDMI and up-scaling to 1920 x 1080i, Precision Cinema Progressive, 14-bit /216 MHz video D/A converter and Audio-Video SYNC.

This new player is ideal for a high quality home cinema installation. It is a perfect match for the Sony STR-DA7100ES receiver, for a first class performance from DVD Video, Super Audio CD or CD. The inclusion of HAT (High quality digital Audio Transmission System) technology when both models are connected overcomes the problem of jittery signal caused by the 1-bit DSD conveying high data rates. HAT incorporates three principal elements, variable-speed transmission from the player, buffer memory in the receiver and command signals from the receiver to the player, controlling transmission speed.

In keeping with the ES styling the 9100ES has a new, brushed aluminium faceplate design. The cascade design sets all the primary front panel controls at an angle, so that the user can easily identify and operate the required controls.

The DVP-NS9100ES is available now.
