News Lights, Blinds, TV, Action - Somfy Offers a Fully Integrated System for Creating the Home Cinema Environment (4/11/2005) Somfy, a world leader in home motion solutions, has developed a fully integrated system for creating the ideal home cinema environment. Using Somfy motors and controls, lights can be dimmed, blinds closed and TV screens made to magically appear all at the single touch of a button. Marketing manager Jonathan Goostray says: " It's the ultimate in comfort and convenience. Our multi-function remote control handsets can be programmed to control everything simultaneously or separately. Control can also be patched in to the latest whole home control systems." Somfy motors and controls are used throughout the world to automate everything from blinds and awnings to garage doors and garden gates. "We can automate the movement of almost anything in the home," added Jonathan Goostray. "We entered the home cinema market as a result of people not wanting their large plasma and LCD TVs in full view all the time. Powered by Somfy motors they can be concealed in cupboards or behind furniture and raised or lowered as required. It was a natural progression to link this movement to the control of natural and artificial lighting.
