AWE Introduces Latest HD Ready Plasmas from Pioneer (2/11/2005)

AWE, the UK custom install distributor for Pioneer, has launched the sixth generation of HD ready Pioneer's plasma display panels. AWE promises that the new Pure Vision Black screens are "their most spectacular to date", offering unrivalled picture quality in its class and new levels of realism for high-end customers.

The new line-up of four plasma TV's, the PDP-436 XDE and PDP-436 FDE 43 inch plasmas and the PDP-506 XDE and PDP-506 FDE 50 inch plasmas add to the existing 61" monitor. Improved picture quality is achieved with the unique PUREBLACK panel, created by a new treatment process applied to the rear side of the front glass panel which ensures imperfections in the surface are eliminated and light emitted hits a perfectly flat surface. Through this process, both colour and detail are improved, whilst black levels are dramatically increased, resulting in an even better brightness, contrast and clarity.

All four plasmas are HD ready and RS-232 controllable, with the XDE plasmas featuring digital tuners, ISF calibration software and a second HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) input in the media box. HDMI enables users to connect uncompressed digital video and audio signals over a single cable, resulting in perfect full digital video and sound without deterioration. The new screens also feature a new slim stylish black glass bezel, to create the sleekest look of any plasma on the market.

Pioneer has already won the home entertainment industry's premier award for the excellence of its Pure Vision Black Plasma TV's. The European Image and Sound Association (EISA) have named the Pioneer PDP-506 XDE as 'European Plasma TV of the Year 2005-2006.
