New devolo MicroLink dLAN Highspeed Starter Kit Offers DVD-Quality Video Streaming and 85Mbps Home Networking (13/10/2005)

Powerful home-networking, video streaming and Internet Protocol TV transmission over household electrical wiring with MicroLink Highspeed Starter Kit

devolo UK has launched the MicroLink dLAN Highspeed Starter Kit, a home networking solution delivering rapid data transfer, video streaming and Internet Protocol (IP) TV transmission at speeds of up to 85Mbps over the household electrical wiring.

With data transfer speeds of up to 85Mbps, the MicroLink dLAN Highspeed Starter Kit offers a real alternative to conventional Ethernet cabling, with the bandwidth to support full multimedia home networking. devolo is the first company in the world to have developed a product for this an application.

The MicroLink adaptors deliver simple and effective plug-and-play networking throughout the whole house. The adaptors are simply plugged into a wall socket and function just like a physical network cable, ready for immediate use.

The dLAN offers proven advantages over both Ethernet cabling and WLAN. MicroLink removes the need to install extra wiring throughout the house and is not affected by any reduction in transmission quality, which can often be caused by walls and ceilings when using wireless networks.

With up to six times the bandwidth of its predecessor, the MicroLink Highspeed Starter Kit can be used to transmit videos in DVD quality. Used alongside IP-TV, video can also be streamed anywhere in the house on demand.

MicroLink dLAN Highspeed adaptors are available at a recommended retail price of £74.99 (inc VAT). The Starter Kit consists of two adaptors and costs £139.99 (inc VAT). All packs come with a comprehensive three-year warranty and support package.
