Picture House Shows New Plasma Screen Fireplace (13/10/2005)
New Award-winning Patent Pending Plasma Screen
Fireplace - an innovative, space-saving way of hiding the plasma
TV
With the "Firelight Beachcomber" Plasma TV
fireplace, the plasma TV is hidden away in an elegant fireplace
featuring waves and pebble designs with lava rock in the fireplace,
reflecting the "Beachcomber" name. When you want to watch TV, all
you do is press the remote and the TV automatically lifts out of
the fireplace to viewing height. When the programme has finished,
simply press the remote again and the TV disappears inside the fireplace.
No more messy wires and cables! Now you see it, now you donāt. The
Beachcomber is a fully working fireplace, using an electric flame
effect fire which provides 2kW of fan forced heat. The price of
The Beachcomber is £2,140. Whatās more, when you visit the stand
you have the chance of winning one of Picture Houseās plasma TV
hand-crafted screen cabinets, worth over £2,000. This works in a
similar way to the plasma fireplaces except the plasma TV is housed
in a stylist cabinet, available in a choice of wood. For your chance
to win, all you have to do is complete a form with your details,
available on the stand.
Other models in the plasma fireplace range
will also be on the stand. These include the "Firelight Classic"
ö a timeless, classic, elegant fireplace (the price is £3,631) and
the "Firelight Modern". Like The Beachcomber, these models are free
standing fully working fireplaces. They use an electric flame effect
fire which provides 2kW of fan forced heat. The "Firelight Modern"
fire is a 'hole in the wall' style fire, very modern and stylish.
It is available with the option of pebbles, lava rock or driftwood
and the fire is remote controlled. This means you can dim the light,
turn on the heat, adjust the heat, switch the fire on and off from
the comfort of your armchair.
The 'Modern' also features built in downlights
to create ambience in the room. The downlights can be upgraded so
they change colour ö this means the lights can be adjusted according
to the dcor or mood.
One of the benefits of the "Firelight Modern"
is that it is capable of concealing all the equipment inside the
Fireplace. There is a space in the lower section of the fireplace
to put the DVD/VCR and space inside for other equipment. When you
walk into the room, all the black boxes are completely out of site
ö thereās nothing to spoil the roomās decor. The price is £3,782
(the option for central control of hidden equipment and multi-colour
downlighters is extra.)
Virtually any fireplace currently on the
market can be recreated to house your Plasma or LCD TV.
David Free, inventor of the Firelight series
of Plasma TV fireplaces, who presents "The Great British Woodshop"
TV programme on Discovery Real Time, says: "People tend to put the
plasma TV in the middle of the wall which means it dominates the
room and takes up space." So he came up with the idea of fireplaces
and cabinets that not only conceal the plasma TV and wiring, but
also allow you to watch TV when you want to. "The ĪFirelightā series
is a revolutionary new concept in home cinema design - a way of
disguising the plasma TV as well as having a stylish fireplace at
the same time," he says. Also on the stand will be Picture Houseās
range of hand-crafted cabinets, which incorporate the same innovative
lifting mechanism. These 12in deep cabinets are available in a wide
range of styles, so you can match new and existing decor. The "Mirage"
cabinets are in a modern style in a choice of solid wood such as
cherry, walnut, maple, oak and pine. The "Illusion" cabinets are
in a more classic style with a variety of hand-made grilles (solid
brass, chrome, aluminium, wood) and are also available in a choice
of wood.
A painted finish is also available in a choice
of colours to match your decor. All cabinets are supplied with a
two year guarantee. The cabinets can be installed by you or by company
specialists at an additional cost. Prices start from £2,140.
