News Smart-e launches a new entry-level AV switch/router - the SmartNet SNX-8x8+ (4/10/2005) Smart-e has extended its SmartNet X+ range by adding a new multi-format Audio-Visual switch/router for the high-end domestic and small corporate user. SmartNet SNX-8x8+ provides a high quality and cost effective solution to the distribution of composite video, RGBS, UXGA, YUV, Y/C, CVBS and stereo audio signals up to 300m over Cat5e/6/7 structured cabling. It supports 8 inputs and outputs in a compact and attractive 1U size (19"rack mountable) unit. In addition, SmartNet SNX-8x8+ provides integration of control functions via RS422 and IR, is Dolby 5.1 compatible and will support analogue High-Definition Television (HDTV). Jon Lane, Smart-e MD, says "The SmartNet 8x8 is the latest addition to our highly successful SmartNet X+ range of routers. This new unit offers the same high quality signal routing and distribution in a format more convenient for the home or small corporate user." In summary, the SmartNet SNX-8x8+ combines in one unit the features of high quality Video and stereo Audio matrix, signal distribution over structured cabling and interactive IR/RS422 control and IR/RS-232 pass-through.
