AMX Unveils Smallest Modero Touch Panel Packed with Advanced Capabilities of Larger Panels (29/9/2005)

5" Modero Widescreen Ideal for Home, Business and Educational Applications

AMX Corporation, a worldwide leader in advanced control system technology, expanded its family of Modero Touch Panels today with the introduction of its smallest, yet feature rich, touch panel for residential, commercial and educational environments. The 5" Modero Widescreen offers the same advanced features and functionality as AMX's existing Modero panels, but in a smaller, more discrete form factor. AMX's control solutions, including the new 5" Modero Widescreen, are on display at CEDIA EXPO in booth 141, Sept. 9 - 11.

"AMX has packed a lot of punch in the new 5" Modero Widescreen, our smallest Modero Touch Panel launched to date," said Rashid Skaf, President and CEO, AMX. "This subtle, yet feature-rich touch panel offers what no other panel of its size can - audio/video-ready capabilities, a 16x9 widescreen user interface and the unique AMX Modero design all rolled into an unbelievably sleek flush-mount wall display."

AMX is addressing all market segments with the Modero line - starting from the 17" all the way down to the 5" which includes all of the capabilities end users have come to expect from the Modero family, but in the smallest package to date. The 5" Modero is the perfect solution for the small spaces found in home foyers, hallways, kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. It is also ideal for corporate and educational settings such as entryways, meeting rooms and offices. Additionally, the 5" Modero can be integrated into the lecterns and podiums used in auditoriums and large classrooms.

The 5" Modero is available in black, ivory, light almond and white bezels and is designed to fit tastefully and unobtrusively on the wall. The panel offers a high-resolution 800x480 widescreen LCD and an integrated motion sensor that detects movement and can be programmed to activate the user interface upon approach. It also includes a separate sensor that automatically adjusts the LCD display based on surrounding ambient light conditions, providing an optimum view of the on-screen text, icons and graphics.

The 5" Modero Widescreen also offers a built-in IR Receiver, which extends control through the panel from the convenience of AMX's new Mio Modero R-1 Remote, also announced today.

Availability

The 5" Modero Widescreen will be available to ship within 90 days.
