Rotel's New Power Amps and Fan Kit Designed Exclusively for Custom Installations (26/9/2005)

Three new power amplifiers designed exclusively for high-performance custom AV installations, individually or in combination, are being introduced at CES by Rotel. The 2x50-watt RKB-250, the 6x50W RKB-650, and the 2-x- 100W RKB-2100-all 20Hz-20kHz, 0.05% THD-deliver expandable, highly configurable power for custom-installed home theater and whole-house systems. In addition, Rotel will introduce a fan-cooling kit, the RKF-100, designed to serve the new, rack-mountable amplifiers in tight locations or cabinets with restricted ventilation.

"First and foremost, a custom-install amplifier simply has to work: toughness and reliability are job one in every case," says Mike Bartlett, Rotel America's VP and General Manager. "So we engineered these new amplifiers to be all but absolutely bulletproof. But beyond sheer toughness, any amplifier with 'Rotel' on the front panel must prove its heritage sonically-the RKBs also rely on Rotel's classic 'Balanced Design' to ensure truly audiophile-grade reproduction, whether the application is multi-room, or the most critical music room or home theater."

Each of the new Rotel RKB amps stands on the rock-solid foundation of a typically "overengineered" Rotel power supply employing massive, carefully specified, toroidal power transformers combining tremendous dynamic reserves in a compact, easily installed size, and the kind of ample current reserves typical of Rotel amps: All three models will double their 8½ power into 4½ loads with full-specification performance.
