Motorola's New Monitoring and Control system
Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announces
the launch of homesight(TM), a new home monitoring and control system
for the UK market.
Motorola's homesight(TM) is a co-coordinated
system of wired and wireless cameras, wireless door/window sensors
and devices that work together to provide information on what's
happening in your home. This simple to-use system intelligently
monitors and controls your home environment by recording, storing
and sending photos and video clips to you, wherever you are in the
world via a compatible mobile phone or PC.
The homesight(TM) system consists of an easy
start kit and various optional accessories. The starter kit is simple
and easy to install and includes a system controller (the brains
behind the system), a wireless camera that can be placed inside
your home or in a sheltered outside area, a wireless sensor for
doors and windows, and the homesight(TM) software. The software
can be loaded onto any PC, enabling you to use and control the system.
Once up and running with the easy starter
kit, you can add extra sensors or cameras anywhere in the home.
The range of accessories includes power controllers to turn on lamps
and appliances remotely(1), water and temperature sensors, motion
detectors, sirens and cameras with built-in motion detectors.
"Motorola's homesight(TM) allows people to
stay connected to things that matter to them; be it their home,
family, or pets. It provides peace of mind, enabling them to stay
aware of what's happening in and around their home, even when they're
away. This extends Motorola's vision of Seamless Mobility which
is all about linking you to people, information and entertainment,
wherever you are, whenever you want," said Paul King, Motorola vice
president of Motorola's Connected Home business in Europe, the Middle
East and Africa.
The homesight(TM) easy start kit will be

of GBP229.99 from 17 September 2005.
