Research carried by Vogel's suggests that just 27 per cent of LCD/plasma TVs are mounted on the wall, with the rest ending up on other furniture. Why? Because all too often it's still inconvenient to mount flatscreens on the wall. They're at the wrong angle to view, swiveling support brackets are often hard work to operate, inflexible and agricultural-looking, the best place for the sofa might be at right angles to the screen... there are a multitude of reasons why wall-mounting is often an unsatisfactory option, even if the majority of people would still prefer it.
