Flying Mole's new audiophile-class amplifier solutions expand the new digital lifestyle market (16/9/2005)

True to its motto of providing products that are "Creative, Simple Beautiful", Flying Mole is exhibiting four compact amplifier solutions at CEDIA (Custom Engineering Design and Installation Assoc.) Sept. 9 - 11. The products consist of a Pure Audio Pre-Amp (PA-S1), a Desk-top Mini Integrated Amplifier (CA-S3), and two Power Amplifiers rated at 300W (DAD-M310) 500W (DAD-510).

Rather than getting into the technical aspects of Flying Mole products, a good, simple description is written in a recent issue of Sound on Sound (May, 2005), Hugh Robjohns says: "Digital amplifiers leave something to be desired when auditioned; Class D amps are often harsh-sounding and lack the resolution and "Inky black" silences that a good analogue amp can deliver. However, the technology has improved significantly in recent years, and Flying Mole's unique Bi-Phase Fusion Technology certainly seems to be able to deliver the goods."

All Flying Mole products are expected to live up to their stringent requirements of providing products that are compact, efficient, lightweight, and most of all with audiophile quality sound. The new Pre-Amp, PA-S1, although a departure from its traditional power amplifier products, is a gem for the new digital lifestyle market. Aluminum encased and measuring less than 7" x 2" x 5", weighing 1.75 lbs, the PA-S1 has high precision volume control, 3 gold plated inputs and 3 RCA preouts including 12V power triggers.

Ideally suited with the PA-S1 are the new Monoblock Power Amplifiers, DAD-M310 and DAD-M510. These mini-monsters, if you will, are rated at 300W at 8 or 4ohms and 500W at 8 or 4 ohms while 2 ohm capable at 150W and 250W respectively. Totally encased (requires very little heat-sinking (no fans) due to its efficiency - 85% ), measuring about 9" x 5" x 7", the M310 M510 incorporates Gold Plated Binding Post speaker terminals, 12V triggers, and is available in Balanced or Unbalance inputs. Talk about Headroom in a compact package!!

The CA-S3, the Digital Integrated Amplifier, is Flying Mole's stand-alone solution to near-field monitor applications such as on Desk-tops or with Bedside Stereo Systems. Encased in a stylized aluminum housing, measuring slightly larger than 5" x 2" x 7", and weighing about 3 lbs., this is a reference amplifier which will fit any audiophile's compact requirements. Two channels rated at either 30W/4ohms or 20W/8ohms and with a Power Supply that boasts 150W at peak power and 50W continuous power, this mini-amp is able to entertain larger, hi-end speakers at comfortable listening levels, perhaps applicable for a back-up when youâre tubes go down!!

Along with these audiophile solutions, Flying Mole will exhibit a new Multi-Channel Cascade series product that will incorporate some of the technologies mentioned above. The MC-2000, Chassis or Power Distributor, along with 5 new modules (500W, 300W, 2 x 125W, 4 x 75W, 6 x 20W) will be on display at the CEDIA. Flying Mole will continue to expand the frontiers of digital amplification solutions for the new digital lifestyle market. Feel free to contact us for any further questions.
