Runco Expands CineWide Projector Technology with CL-610 and CL-810 Models (15/9/2005)

Pioneering Producer of Home Theater Video Technology Offers Projectors Capable of Displaying Movies in the 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio with All Their Original Quality

Runco International, the leader in home theater video display technology, continues to establish new standards for home cinema excellence with the announcement that Runco's exclusive CineWide? technology is now being offered as an option for two of its renowned Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors in the Reflection? Series Projector Portfolio, models CL-610 and CL-810. The CineWide? feature allows Runco projectors to utilize the full resolution capability of their DMD chips, while displaying movies formatted in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with increased resolution and brightness. Adding CineWide? to Runco's existing package of acclaimed performance features found in the Reflection? Series Projector Portfolio continues the company's tradition of excellence through cutting-edge engineering.

"At Runco International, we continuously strive to deliver our breakthrough imaging technologies to as many of our projectors as possible, giving more home theater enthusiasts that cinema-like movie experience," said Bob Hana, president of Runco International. "CineWide? is one of our innovations that allow viewers to enjoy all of their favorite movies in breathtaking high-definition, even those filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio. By offering CineWide? as an option on the CL-610 and CL-810, we wish to convey our ongoing commitment to providing our dealers and their customers' home theater displays that are unparalleled in versatility, picture quality, and value."

Each Runco projector equipped with CineWide? is upgraded not only in terms of a new lens option, but in software as well, which is programmed to ensure uncompromised widescreen reproduction of movies originally filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 format. Through a combination of electronics and anamorphic optics, each projector with CineWide is able to take advantage of every pixel on its DMD chips, thereby producing an image with enhanced resolution and increased brightness whether it is a 2.35:1 movie or 16:9 HDTV programming. Regardless of the video source, projectors maximize clarity, color saturation and contrast of all source material. Each projector is also able to fully maintain all high-definition resolution or upgrade pictures to virtual high-definition for widescreen projection.

The CL-610 and CL-810 projector with CineWide? is an option that is only available at the time of original purchase. With the upgrade to the CineWide? feature, the models will be designated as the CL-610CineWide and CL-810CineWide, respectively. Additionally, the CL-810 will have available at the time of purchase an optional upgraded lens package that will represent the ultimate cinematic performance offered in the Reflection? Series Projector Portfolio. The model designation will be CL-810Ultra, available with or without CineWide?.
