Engineers Hands-On Product Development Training (19/8/2005)
The ZigBee(TM) Alliance today released its
agenda for the inaugural ZigBee Developers' Conference, designed
to provide engineers with valuable experience in product development
using ZigBee technology in order to accelerate the market introduction
of ZigBee products. Held in conjunction with CABA's Connected@Home2005
in Las Vegas, October 3 -5, the ZigBee Developers' Conference will
feature opportunities for attendees to learn about the ZigBee technology
and will provide developers of wireless monitor and control products
valuable, hands-on experience on how to incorporate ZigBee technology
into their designs.
The conference will commence with an introduction
from Bob Heile, chairman of the ZigBee Alliance, and feature interactive
presentations by ZigBee Alliance member companies. Attendees will
learn about the ZigBee technology in both technical sessions and
hands-on training workshops on the following topics:
-- ZigBee Development - Focused on the broad
applications of the ZigBee technology, these in-depth discussions
will provide details to help developers program for ZigBee and examine
various factors that go into a developer's decision to use the technology.
Topics range from the process of developing ZigBee applications
for control systems and home automation to exploring the multiple
facets of designing ZigBee applications. Member companies leading
these discussions include: Assa Abloy Identification Technology
Group; Cirronet; Daintree Networks; Ember; Figure 8 Wireless/Chipcon;
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.; Integration Associates; San Juan
Software; TUV Rheinland Group; and ZMD.
-- ZigBee Compliant Platform Workshops -
These half-day, hands-on workshops give developers the ability to
work with the ZigBee-compliant platforms from Ember, Figure8 Wireless/Chipcon,
Figure8 Wireless/Freescale Semiconductor and Integration Associates/OKI.
Representatives from these companies will be available to provide
technical guidance to attendees.
