BBG announces major changes to coincide with its re-location to new HQ (19/8/2005)

BBG - the exclusive distributor for Bandridge, Profigold, Jamo and Vogels in the UK - has announced a number of major changes within its organisation this week, to coincide with their recent move to their new headquarters facility in Watford.

BBG Distribution Ltd, well known for its high quality marketing and retailer back-up, has decided to rationalise some of its home and in-car brands to improve even further their support to their key retailers and customers.

Therefore, with immediate affect, BBG will no longer distribute the T+A and Waterfall brands in the UK. From now these will be handled by a new UK distributor called Transparent Distribution Ltd, run by none other than Tyron Jackson... the former National Sales Manager for BBG!

Gordon Dutch - Sales & Marketing Director states - 'Over the past 6-12 months BBG has been looking long and hard at all of its product ranges. With the huge success of Vogels here in the UK plus the addition of Bandridge/Profigold & Jamo, it became clear that there was a massive gap between the niche products we carried, such as T+A & Waterfall, and the more mass market brands that we carry.

Although we have been very successful with T+A and Waterfall, the sheer amount of work they take to service and their routes to market varied massively from our new core business so we decided changes had to be made.

Upon informing Tyron of our decision, Ty decided he would like to stay with the brands and therefore the decision was made, with T+A and Waterfall's blessing, that Ty would go with the brands, thereby giving him a great chance to develop his own high-end distribution company.

As you would expect from BBG the transition has been dealt with wholly amicably and Ty will take over all aspects of Sales, Marketing & Service as from now, supported by the two manufacturers.

This decision leaves us free to concentrate 100% on our core brands and provide an even higher level of sales, marketing and service to our retailers.'

Tyron Jackson - Managing Director of Transparent Distribution confirmed - 'I've really enjoyed my time with BBG and totally understood its decision to rationalize. Having said that I had built up some really good relationships with both the suppliers and retailers over the past 3 years and really didn't want to see those go to waste. Due to BBG's established policy of re-investment the brands have been, and are still enjoying great reviews in the press, and are in great shape - my aim is to continue and build on what BBG has started.'

Siggi Amft, owner of T+A says 'T+A really appreciates BBG's honest and open approach to business and the work they have put in with our brand. We are pleased that BBG were good enough to inform us in advance of their plans and to ensure that all of us were able to find a suitable solution for us to continue growing the UK market, a market that 's now becoming of significant importance to us.'

Nadine Dewell, Export Manager for Waterfall says 'When BBG took over Waterfall in the UK it had little or no sales and an invisible profile. Since that time it has built a strong base for us and we also appreciate and accept its decision to rationalise. We sincerely believe that Ty will carry on where BBG left off.'

To coincide with its re-structuring BBG has also replaced all self-employed consultants at the company with fully-time employed staff to ensure a higher level of customer care and service. With Ty's departure David Mills has now become National Sales Manager for the new merged Home Audio & Accessories Division. Further details on BBG's new employed sales force will follow shortly.
