Top-End Kevlar Speaker Delivers High Cranking Power

The Proficient Audio brand of premium speakers has become known for superior sonic performance and leading-edge industrial designs. That industry reputation is being enhanced with the IW550 inwall LCR, now shipping for plasma and LCD screen installs. The IW550 underscores that Proficient is the hottest new architectural brand to emerge in recent years.

ÒWe designed the IW550 specifically for flat-panel jobs," said Proficient VP Keith Marshall. "We wanted to come out with a top-end cinema LCR speaker that would crank high SPLs. The IW550's ability to pump high listening levels helps customers get the most out of their investment in a new, flat-panel screen."

Kevlar, which is very durable and extremely lightweight, delivers highly accurate response at very high SPLs. Using Kevlar and dual woofers allows the IW550 to easily handle the wide dynamic range and fast transients of movies.

The IW550 features dual 5 _" Kevlar woofers, a 1" pivoting aluminum-dome tweeter with +/-3dB bass and treble contour switches. Power handling is rated at 125 watts into an 8-ohm load with 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response. Wall cutout dimensions are 14-1/2" by 6-3/16".
