Creek Audio Announces New Classic Integrated Amplifier (4/8/2005)

Undoubtedly one of Creek Audio's most successful products in the last decade was the 5350SE integrated amplifier. One of the company's higher end products, it has enjoyed an avid following in many parts of the world for several years.

So when some parts were no longer available, the company decided to make a few minor design changes and re-launch it Ð appropriately named the Creek Classic 5350SE.

Arriving into stores in mid to late August, the new Classic 5350SE will sell at the price the original 5350SE was selling at in 2002.

Along with a few simple changes to improve the performance and eliminate components that are now obsolete or redundant, the major change has been the removal of the tape selector switch and the reduction in size of the pre-amp circuit board.

The front panel has been re-styled to accommodate the change, and the casework has been re-worked to handle the removal of the redundant 2nd Tape Output.

Connection between the Pre-amp and Power amp is now made with a semi-hidden, push switch which is situated on the rear panel. Separating the pre and power amps via this switch allows the user to connect an external device such as a subwoofer. This provides an ideal solution for someone who wants to extend the bass frequency of their loudspeakers when listening to music.

The Classic 5350SE remains a landmark in Hi-Fi design, incorporating state of the art circuitry with elegant styling to achieve a versatile and high fidelity amplifier of the highest order. Undoubtedly it will live up to its 'Classic' name.
