New AMX Touch Panel is the Star of the Show at CEDIA (26/7/2005)

The response from visitors at this year's Cedia exhibition to AMX's new 10" widescreen Modero touch panel has been a unanimous thumbs up for the latest addition to the company's industry-leading panel range.

Visitor feedback during and following the show demonstrated massive interest in the low profile panel, which combines optimised, usable screen space in a compact size, as well as delivering the industry leading aesthetic appeal of the Modero family, making it ideal for any business or residential setting.

Visitors to Cedia also welcomed the introduction of the exciting Mio Modero Series of control keypads and particularly the sleek and elegantly designed Elite and Attachˇ models. These keypads feature an innovative "people sensor" that lights up the LCD icons on the keys in response to a person's hand nearing the unit, but is not triggered by other objects. The LED icons also change colour when pressed. Cool LED lighting options of electric blue and vivid red are offered as standard.

The Modero 10" was Introduced to satisfy the market's need for an affordable, mid-sized touch panel, and benefits from the pedigree and tradition of AMX's best selling 10.4" Colour LCD TiltScreen panel with the latest functionality delivered by the Modero range.

The adoption of the 16 x 9 widescreen format, combined with a smaller overall footprint, creates substantial screen space for easy accommodation of graphics, icons and video windows, while keeping its physical size to a minimum. This clever combination makes the panel the ideal choice for desktop applications and for environments where space is critical but maximum screen space is needed.

A photosensitive light detector on the front of the panel determines surrounding degrees of light and automatically regulates the brightness of the display.

The panel is available in wall mounted and table top configurations, which are offered with optional external pushbuttons and wireless capabilities. Wireless capabilities are provided by means of an 802.11b Wi-Fi Card, which allows users to benefit from the freedom of wireless control, ultimately eliminating unsightly cables to create an aesthetically pleasing environment.

Multi-media options include built-in speakers and microphone, a headphone connection and the ability to play back MP3 and WAV audio files.

The Mio Modero Series includes four keypad models - Classic, Prestige, Elite and Attachˇ - offering the versatility to address a range of control needs, from simple to multi-function, in both commercial and residential markets.
