Blue7 Communications Demonstrates Non-Line-of-Sight Video Streaming over Extended Range with Windeo Solution (13/7/2005)

The Windeo(TM) Chipset, an MBOA-Compliant, All-CMOS UWB Technology is Targeted for the Consumer Electronics, Digital Entertainment, and Mobile Devices Markets

Blue7 Communications, a pioneer in Ultra Wideband (UWB) semiconductor products, demonstrated uninterrupted wireless MPEG Video Streaming over a 20m range at 106.7 Mbps with their Windeo(TM) System today at Blue7 Communications headquarters in Milpitas. The Windeo(TM) System was also shown traversing through 2 walls with a group of people standing between the radios. The demonstration was presented to several groups of customers, partners and analysts. The Windeo(TM) Chipset enables the next generation of Consumer Electronics products such as HDTVs, DVD players, Set-Top boxes, Digital Cameras, and PDAs with broadband wireless capability.

"We are very pleased with the results of the demonstrations of our patent-pending technology. The Windeo(TM) Chipset will guarantee extended range and highly reliable wireless streaming, even when the line-of-sight is blocked by objects or people," said Hung Nguyen, President and CEO of Blue7 Communications.

"This is a great milestone in the advancement of wireless video streaming. The quality of video was superb and uninterrupted even with obstructions present between the transmitter and receiver. This will greatly improve consumer confidence in adopting such technology," said Mike Tanahashi, Director of Research and Business Development at TRDA Inc. (Taiyo Yuden R&D Center of America) "The demand for wireless audio/video is extremely high. Considering there are no complete solutions on the market today, OEMs and consumers will greatly benefit from this standards-based technology."
