TCI Offers Projection Screens in Bespoke Formats, Sizes and Colours (5/7/2005)

CEDIA UK Expo 2005

Whether it is a home cinema installation in a living room, a full multimedia system for the boardroom or a projector installation in a pub or club, sometimes, customers need a screen of a specific size. Alternatively, they may require a different format, a non-standard colour for the screen cassette or even, if they know about the facility now available, their own logo or promotional message printing on the screen surround and/or borders.

TCI is receiving more and more enquires for special screens. Because of the company's flexibility, these can often be met and most quotations result in orders. For dealers, this represents an opportunity to obtain a higher price and earn more margin by meeting the customer's individual requirements.

Although TCI now offer a very comprehensive range of standard screens, most of which are available in square, video, (4:3) and widescreen (16:9) formats, customers sometimes need a screen to fit a particular space or the cassette coloured to match their dˇcor. The black borders on the screen can also be adjusted to other formats and can now be printed to incorporate a logo, name or promotional message.

This facility is available for most of the different screen types in the TCI range. It is proving particularly popular for wall / ceiling mounted screens either in the standard or channel fix types. Also, for electric screens either using the standard switch or with the remote control, Plug & Play, facility. Screens of this nature can be provided up to five metres wide.

TCI has recently introduced a range of specialist support brackets for their screens. These allow the wall / ceiling screens to be mounted in different configurations, including a special system for hanging a screen on a suspended ceiling.
