CEDIA Expo Moves to London to Continue Impressive Growth (5/7/2005)

In announcing dates for next year's CEDIA Expo, CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) has confirmed that the only trade event dedicated to home electronics will take place at a new and bigger venue, the ExCeL London.

"The industry is growing fast to accommodate rapidly increasing demand for integrated home electronic technology from homeowners, house builders, architects and interior designers" says Wendy Griffiths, Operations Director at CEDIA. "The expansion of CEDIA Expo reflects these developments, to such an extent that we have now outgrown our home for the past two years, the International Convention Centre in Birmingham. The time is right to move CEDIA Expo to ExCel London - a high class venue in the capital, giving us even better facilities, the room that we need to expand our popular CEDIA education programme, and provide bigger, more coherent space for exhibitors."

CEDIA Expo will be held at ExCeL London from 20 to 22 June 2006.

Located in Docklands, ExCeL London is a thriving exhibition and conference centre. It is home to a vast range of events throughout the year, from internationally acclaimed travel trade exhibitions to high octane sporting events for all the family, as well as product launches, conferences and corporate hospitality functions. For CEDIA Expo 2006 over 6,000m2 of high quality floor space will be provided to exhibitors in Halls 8, 9 and 10. In addition, six superbly equipped seminar rooms will be available at ExCeL London to meet the rapidly expanding requirements of the CEDIA education programme.

The venue is easily accessible from Central London by DLR, and is also close to London City Airport. The ExCeL London campus will perfectly complement the social networking and accommodation requirements of CEDIA Expo, offering a whole host of bars, pubs, cafes, restaurants and hotels. This will ensure the event retains its reputation for successfully mixing business with fun and enjoyment.

From modest beginnings in Harrogate in 1996, when just over 300 attended, the CEDIA UK Expo attracted over 3,000 trade visitors to the 2004 event held at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham. The event has grown at an impressive and consistent rate. In 2005, over 100 companies booked stands in the exhibition, with space selling out months ahead of the event, whilst the education programme featured over 70 seminars covering all aspects of the custom installation industry.
