Lutron Extends its Consumer Reach (5/7/2005)
CEDIA UK Expo 2005
Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., the world leader
in lighting control, has taken this technology into the UK residential
market with the introduction of a new dimming range. Designed to
be simply retrofitted, the new range has sleek lines with signature
Lutron styling that brings an affordable solution to quality dimming
in the home.
There are five products in the dimming range,
including Lyneo, Lutron's basic slide dimmer and Solina a discrete
floor and table lamp dimmer which can fade lamps on and off with
a simple tap - while memorising the last light level set. The range
also includes Rania and Rania IR, which are multi-location dimmers
that are both operated by the touch of a button and when switched
back on, the dimmer memorises the last lighting level chosen. Universal
dimming options are also available on the Rania range that auto-sense
the load type - both low voltage and incandescent sources.
In addition, Rania features green LEDs to
indicate the current light levels in the room and the Rania IR dimmer
comes with a remote control. With load capabilities up to 500w,
Lutron's new dimming range offers flexibility as well as high performance.
With a range of finishes from white to chrome
and nickel, the dimming range has been designed with ease of use
and ultimate choice in mind. A comprehensive range of accessories
will shortly also be available to co-ordinate the finish and colour
of wallplates and jacks with the dimmers.
The product range is being supported by a
high-profile consumer media campaign to encourage end-users to think
beyond the normal light-switch. In addition, Lutron is offering
installers and specifiers the chance to visit their training facilities
in London to see how using the new range can increase earning potential
as well as offer end-users increased flexibility.
Alongside Lutron's two year warranty on all
the products in the range, the company is also offering installers
and specifiers a design and layout service. This ensures that not
only does the lighting control strategy fulfil the end users' requirements,
but that it also meets all the latest environmental design criteria.
Susan Fox, Business Leader, International
Wallbox Products comments: "We have developed this new range of
products because there has been an ever-growing interest in lighting
control technology from the wider consumer market. With the increase
in usage of home cinemas and surround sound, consumers are expecting
more and more from their homes. Lutron's new dimming range, enables
installers and specifiers alike to extend lighting control solutions
to users who would traditionally have seen this technology as out
of reach".
