Priced at $1,999(1), Qosmio(TM) F25-AV205 "Four-in-One" Audio-Visual Notebook Features Digital Convergence Design, Upgraded Configuration

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. and provider of industry-leading portable computers, projectors and other mobile-related services and products celebrating Toshiba's 20th anniversary of the first mass-marketed laptop computer, today announced the Qosmio(TM) F25-AV205, an affordable "four-in-one" digital entertainment notebook with a new attractive design and upgraded features.

Scheduled to be available in July 2005 with an estimated single unit price of $1,999(1), the Qosmio F25-AV205 offers consumers a 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite(TM) display, Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Media Center Edition 2005 and integrated TV tuner, digital video recorder (DVR), read/write DVD/CD player, virtual surround-sound stereo and all the capabilities of a powerful, full-featured notebook PC.

Starting under eight pounds(2), Qosmio F25-AV205 features a new digital convergence design, including a sleek black finish, large volume dial that can be accessed when the unit is closed, stylized edging and black control buttons.

Upgraded features inside include a 100 GB 5400 rpm hard drive(3), 1024 MB DDR2 memory(4), NVIDIA GeForce 6 GO 6600 graphics(5) accelerator with 64 MB DDR SDRAM, and a fixed DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive compatible with current DVD formats. The optical drive can nearly double storage capacity in DVD+R format.

"The Qosmio F25-AV205 offers all the quality and `four-in-one' AV functionality associated with the Qosmio line at an extremely reasonable price," said Taro Hiyama, vice president of marketing for Toshiba's Digital Products Division. "Movies, music, television, gaming, Internet and personal computing converge in a portable device for the entire family."

The F25-AV205 features the QosmioPlayer, allowing users to watch TV, DVDs or listen to CDs with a quick touch of a button on the unit or the remote control without booting up the Windows operating system. With this feature, Qosmio owners can enjoy audio or video content within seconds just as if they were using a stand-alone TV, stereo or DVD player.

For optimum viewing, QosmioEngine software is included for enhanced video clarity and crisp images while SRS(R) TruSurround XT(TM) technology and built-in harman/kardon(R) stereo speakers enable a rich audio experience. With its 5-in-1 bridge media adapter, Qosmio users can access and share photo and video content quickly.

Also a powerful computing tool, the Qosmio F25-AV205 features Intel(R) Centrino(TM) Mobile Technology with an Intel Pentium M processor(6) 750 and Intel PRO/Wireless(7) (802.11b/g), providing outstanding mobile performance and easy connectivity to the Internet at home or on the road at wireless hotspots.

Toshiba accessories for the Qosmio F25-AV205 include the Multimedia Center Audio/USB Hub that allows consumers to easily connect their notebook computers to their home entertainment systems, Toshiba keyboard protector, which helps to protect against crumbs and spills, and Toshiba high-capacity 12-cell Lithium Ion battery pack.

The Qosmio F25-AV205 comes with a one-year limited warranty with Toshiba's premier global service. Extended limited warranties are also available. Customers can choose from several service options, including carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country for same-day or next-day service, or utilize any of more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized Depot for 24-hour service turnaround.
