Peerless Industries Adds Five Aluminum Models to SmartMount Family of Flat Panel Display Mounts (16/6/2005)

Peerless Industries, Inc., the industry leader in audiovisual mounting solutions, today introduced the addition of five aluminum models to its SmartMount family of universal flat panel wall mounts. The five pivot and articulating products for 13"-37" screens round out the line by providing users an attractive, image-enhancing look and extreme flat panel functionality. The new aluminum pivot and articulating models are additions to the SmartMount family's flat and tilting styles, and will be shown for the first time in the Peerless Industries booth (#2519) at InfoComm 2005.

Announced in May 2005, the SmartMount family incorporates the widest range of flat panel mount sizes, styles and features for virtually any screen ranging from 10"-63". The SmartMount line is ideal for a long list of professional and CEDIA environments, ranging from traditional conference rooms and offices, to public locations like retail stores, stadiums, hotels and healthcare facilities, to even high-end home entertainment rooms.

"The new aluminum models have an attractive, sophisticated look, which is ideal for flat panel applications in corporate facilities, hotel lobbies and other locations where image is key. And since the new aluminum models come in pivot and articulating styles, they are designed for locations where space or viewing angles may be a challenge, like a cramped workspace or crowded sports bar," explained Dennis Krob, market manager, professional mounting solutions for Peerless Industries. "The entire SmartMount family enables users to maximize viewing of their flat panel screen content, while ensuring safety from damage and security from theft," he added.

The SmartMount Universal Aluminum Pivot Wall Mounts (SP730 for 10"-22" screens and SP740 for 22"-37" screens) offer +15/-5 degrees of tilt and side-to-side swivel movement for applications that require viewing at multiple angles such as behind a check-in desk at a hotel or in a VIP suite at a sporting arena. These mounts can fold flat against the wall or extend out a full six inches. Their one-time tension adjustment and ball/socket mechanism allow for simple, smooth fine-tuning of the screen without the use of additional tools.

The SmartMount Universal Aluminum Articulating Wall Mounts (SA730 and SAL730 for 13"-22" screens and SA740 for 22"-37" screens) fold neatly against the wall or extend out for viewing anywhere in the room with +15/-5 degrees of tilt and up to 180 degrees of swivel movement. Designed for installations that require additional flexibility, the SA730 and SA740 feature a two-pivot-point arm, while the SAL730 is Peerless' longest (18") and most versatile option with four pivot points. These mounts offer the same one-time tension adjustment and ball/socket mechanism as the pivot models with the addition of internal cord management, which allows wires and cables to be safely and conveniently routed internally within the arm to maintain a clean look. The articulating models are ideal for busy executive workspaces or in a retail store where the set-up and merchandise is continually changing.

The aluminum SmartMount products come standard with socket pin security fasteners so installers can quickly tighten two screws that secure the screen to the wall plate to prevent accidental movement and flat panel theft. All the new mounts are made of aircraft-grade aluminum for rock-solid sturdiness and are UL(R) listed and tested at 400 percent of the stated weight bearing capacity for added peace-of-mind. In addition, they are VESA FDMI (Flat Display Mounting Interface) Compliant for conformity with all the mechanical requirements of flat panel displays, further ensuring their reliability and cost-effectiveness.

SmartMount flat panel mounts come pre-assembled out-of-the-box with everything needed for set-up supplied in Peerless' Sorted-For-You(TM) fully labeled and pocketed fastener pack. The instruction manual packaged with each mount contains a comprehensive list of displays and hardware configurations, which correspond with the baffle pack. This simplifies and expedites installation, thereby eliminating downtime and unnecessary trips to the hardware store while allowing professional installers to help keep client projects on time and on budget.

Availability and Pricing

The SmartMount aluminum mounts are all currently available through Peerless' network of AV professionals at list prices ranging from $109-$239, depending on the model. They are also available without security fasteners for applications that don't require additional protection.
