Surround Amplifier (6/6/2005)
AVC-A11XV - £2499.99
- Upconversion to HDMI and DVI/HDMI switching
- Denon Link 3 ratified for SACD - best digital sound
The AVC-A11XV owes much of its design to
its more technologically advanced, critically acclaimed sibling,
the AVC-A1XV and it delivers incredible performance from a compact,
more affordable package. Key features of the A1 are there, including
the advanced MultEQª XT room correction and calibration technology
that is capable of minimising the effects of room acoustics for
multiple listeners. The sound has not been forgotten and the A11
has every Denon digital technology, the very latest codecs and everything
necessary to deliver powerhouse movie and music performance with
finesse.
This is a world-class component that offers
unprecedented features and capabilities for a price significantly
lower than might be expected. To enhance flexibility, the AVC-A11XV
features seven discrete amplifiers and multiplechannel output, with
independent audio and video processing capabilities allowing a multi-source/multi-zone
home entertainment system from a single component.
New features, over and above the A1XV
- HDMI upconversion - while many competitors
haven't even implemented HDMI switching yet, the A11XV goes one
step further to introduce Upconversion of all sources to HDMI. Only
one cable to plasma or projector - Denon Link 3, now SACD capable
allows the Amplifier to receive high-resolution, multi-channel digital
audio data directly from the DVD-A1XV, DVD-A11 and DVD-3910 DVD
players (and future / past Denon products) for the absolutely best
sound from all disc formats
Stunning Audio Performance and Huge Power
- THX Ultra2
- 7 x 140 watts of full-bandwidth high-current
power, into each of its seven channels - 7 x 195 watts into 6 ohms,

The AVC-A11XV is compatible with every popular
surround format, from Dolby, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic IIx to THX
Ultra2 Cinema and Music, to THX Surround EX. It also features THX
4.0/5.1/6.1 post processing, and offers additional DSP modes. Audio
performance is maximized through Denon's newly improved DDSC-D (Dynamic
Discrete Surround Decoder-Digital) and Advanced AL24 Processing
circuitry, which utilizes advanced Texas Instruments, Analog Devices
32-bit floating point processors and Burr-Brown 24-bit/192kHz audio

New MultEQ Auto Set-Up/Room EQ: A Sweet Spot
For Every Listener
The MultEQ XT state-of-the-art Auto Set-Up
and Room Correction goes well beyond conventional auto routines.
This is the first technology capable of generating a 'sweet spot'
for every listener or viewer, no matter where in the room they're
sitting. During Auto Set-Up MultEQ XT automatically determines how
many loudspeakers are connected, whether they are in phase, and
whether they are sats or subs. It then analyses and calibrates speaker
level, size, and distance. In addition, MultEQ XT detects the proper
crossover point and determines correct frequency response for up
to eight listener positions simultaneously.
Denon's implementation of MultEQ XT utilizes
multiple Aureus high-performance DSP processors, along with the
finest Digital to Analogue converters, to define optimum sound quality.
Additionally, both the Room EQ and Auto Set- Up can be disabled
for those who prefer to calibrate in the traditional manner.
Custom Installation-Friendly Features, Plus
Upgradeability
In addition to its extensive complement of
digital and analog audio and video connections, the AVC-A11XV also
includes a full array of custom installation AV Amplifier features,
such as assignable high current DC trigger outputs and an RS-232C
port for integrated system operation with Crestron or AMX. Via built-in
Ethernet port, the amplifier offers TCP/IP control capability, and
can accommodate future software / firmware upgrades.
The AVC-A1XV is also supplied with a new,
improved EL programmable remote control.
