Z-Wave Alliance Hosts Inaugural International Event
(1/6/2005)
The Z-Wave Alliance, the consortium of leading
home technology manufacturers who agreed to build wireless home
control products based on Zensys' Z-Wave open standard, announced
today that it will be holding its first international member meeting
and Open House. The inaugural event will take place on June 14,
2005 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Open House is a public event where OEMs,
system integrators, software developers, consulting firms, analysts
and the press can learn more about the leading-edge Z-Wave technology
behind the Alliance. It consists of two parallel tracks with a series
of market presentations and a free technical seminar.
Open House attendees will be able to see
first-hand demonstrations of a large variety of Z-Wave products
in an exhibition from Alliance members. Among the key presentations
are:
-- Intel presenting their vision and telling
how home control applications play a vital role in the future digital
home.
-- Danfoss - one of the market leaders in
heating - revealing their vision for wireless home control.
-- Icom, an organization that has been selling
millions of wireless home control products in the European market
for more than five years, talking about consumer preferences and
building a successful networked product range.
Additional presentations from market leading
manufacturers such as Intermatic, Leviton, UEI, Wayne Dalton, ConvergeX
and Vimar will detail the experience and perspectives for choosing
Z-Wave and joining the Z-Wave Alliance.
Bruno Lund Pedersen, Danfoss Senior Director,
commented "With the success and rapid growth of the Z-Wave Alliance,
interoperable and affordable home control solutions are now available
from leading vendors today. We see this as the route to real 'smart
home solutions.' Our company is exhibiting at the Z-Wave Alliance
Open House because we believe this is the best opportunity to establish
contacts with prospective partners having the same objectives as
we do concerning the future of the home control market."
The technical track provides in-depth presentations
on topics such as setting up and maintaining Z-Wave networks, how
Z-Wave technology achieves true interoperability and Z-Wave product
solutions. There will also be a discussion on Rapid Product Development
with Z-Wave and a comparison of experiences based on Z-Wave and
ZigBee technology by Danfoss.
This is the first Z-Wave Alliance meeting
conducted in Europe and it is a reflection of its rapidly growing
member base there. Previously, highly successful member meetings
were held in November, 2004 in Long Beach, California and February,
2005 in Orlando, Florida. The Open House is the Z-Wave Alliance's
first public event and is expected to further illustrate the focus
of making wireless home control practical and affordable for today's
homeowners.
