Sensible Heat Exhibits the Hometronic Wireless Home
Automation System (31/5/2005)
Stand K26, Hall 4, CEDIA UK Expo 2005
Sensible Heat will be exhibiting the Hometronic
Wireless Home Automation system, which can provide energy-efficient
control of heating, cooling, lighting, ventilation, blinds and awnings
etc. Hometronic provides many security features, too, integrating
with your intruder alarm and providing automated presence simulation
using lights and blinds or curtains to make the house looked lived-in,
and having facilities for smoke/fire detection, water leak/flood
detection, allowing the water and gas supplies to be automatically
shut down in the event of a problem. Hometronic's telephone voice
interface allows you to adjust the settings in your home remotely
using any telephone, and in the event of a problem in your house
(e.g. intruder alarm triggered) the system can phone you and report
a voice alarm message.
Because Hometronic is a wireless system,
it is easy to retrofit to an existing house with mimimal disruption,
and its modular nature means that systems can be easily expanded
as your house or lifestyle changes. We will be showing unique products
like the Hometronic Radiator Controller, which fits onto an existing
radiator valve, and gives independent time and temperature control
for every room in the house, with no wiring, and no changes to the
plumbing. There are special products for underfloor heating, too.
We are a Honeywell Hometronic Specialist
company, with particular expertise in producing integrated whole-house
automation systems by working with Custom Installer partner companies,
who can deliver the elements that Sensible Heat don't do; audio
systems, home cinema, full scene-setting lighting controls, telephone
and IT systems. By working with these partners, we can ensure that
those customers who want lots of technology in their homes end up
with sensible, reliable systems that they can understand. Sensible
Heat has developed a range of special products to allow this seamless
integration to take place; we hope to be exhibiting our latest new
product, the Data Interface, which is a combined Web Server, Media
Center interface and RS232 connection for other systems (e.g. AMX,
Crestron). The Data Interface is due for release late summer 2005.
Also, Sensible Heat has a Green agenda; we
believe that technology should be used in houses not only for fun
and to make life more comfortable (nothing wrong with that), and
for enhanced security, but also to help reduce energy usage and
CO2 emissions at the same time. In addition to offering Home Automation
systems, we can also advise on other forms of Green Technology in
the home. Hopefully, it's not an overly earnest mission - just a
sensible one!
Sensible Heat operates across the UK and
Ireland; we hope to announce exciting news concerning Scotland at
the show!
