O2M8 Demonstrates WebBrick at CEDIA 2005 (26/5/2005)
CEDIA UK Expo 2005
O2M8 Ltd is a UK company developing unique
home automation products and complete solutions targeted for home
extensions, retrofit projects or new house builds. O2M8's goal is
to allow system installers to offer compelling home automation solutions
at competitive prices for mid-range houses in the UK. O2M8 Ltd will
be showing how their recently launched WebBrick product can be used
to control heating, cooling, humidity, glance-technology lighting,
event-enabled cameras, door access control and 'voice-over-IP' technology
all used to solve common problems at home with cool innovative solutions.
WebBrick is the first process control unit
with multi-input and output capability along with a web-server and
network interface for providing deterministic system control and
monitoring. The WebBrick WB10B151 product is available immediately
in PCB form or as a development system delivered in a robust 'IP56'
enclosure.
In a typical home O2M8 recommends a distributed
network of WebBricks providing robust, local control wherever it
is needed. A home gateway/server connected to the local network
and communicating to a family of WebBricks can provide the global
intelligence needed for a comprehensive and effective automation
control system.
O2M8 works with OEMs, distributors, integrators
and installers to provide costeffective standards-based home automation
products and open systems that can be supported by a range of companies
after the original installation is complete. With O2M8 leading the
acceptance of standards-based technology and opensource software
installations will ultimately mean the end customer will make their
own choice which company provides the ongoing maintenance and upgrading
of their smart home systems.
O2M8's WebBrick and 'Glanceable' Lighting
products integrated with VOIP telephony are good examples of standards-based,
open-source solutions.
