Pelham Sloane's Award-Winning Computer Appears at CEDIA Show (25/5/2005)

Stand K2, Hall 4, CEDIA UK Expo 2005

The award-winning Pelham Sloane PS1500 all-in-one desktop computer will be exhibiting on Stand K2, Hall 4, at the CEDIA Expo at ICC Birmingham between 28 and 30 June 2005.

The innovative British 'screenback' computer, which is currently being showcased at the Microsoft Home in London and won two awards at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier last year, is being featured at the show because it is uniquely suited to home automation applications.

In an article in Showhouse (the main trade magazine for the housebuilding industry) in December 2004, the computer was identified as being one of the key innovations that will move home automation forward in the UK. It is already having an impact in the US market, where some level of home automation is included in over 40 per cent of new homes. "The key to home automation is simplicity," explained Pelham Sloane's chairman, John Jensen. "The user interface has to be clear and easy to use. The PS1500 provides the central hub for home automation, which can be mounted on almost any wall or in any environment and can incorporate touch screen controls. At the same time, it can also work as a normal PC, as a television and radio."

Pelham Sloane products integrate a computer with full processing capability within a flat screen measuring only 2 inches in depth. Its flagship product, the PS1500, delivers significant space efficiency and uses Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 and Pentium(R) M processors and the Microsoft(R) XP Professional and MCE operating system.

It has a wide range of flexible options, such as touch screen, flexible mounting options (stand, wall or arm), internal wireless networking, wireless keyboard and mouse among others.

The PS1500 is offered in several configurations starting at £1000.
