AMX Launches Next Generation Wireless Touch Panels at CEDIA UK (25/5/2005)

Stand A54, CEDIA UK Expo 2005

AMX will be exhibiting its new VG series of wireless Modero touch panel user interfaces at Cedia Expo 2005. Equipped to accept wireless streaming video and audio feeds from next generation digital media systems, the new panels can also be used as conventional computer monitors, negating the need for multiple system interfaces.

The new VG series Modero touch panels are capable of handling virtually any analogue or digital media or data source found in a business or residential environment. The 12", 15" and 17" panels are available in two versions: totally wireless or as hard wired units.

The touch panels incorporate 802.11g NIC cards, integrated antennas and cutting-edge Digital Signal Processor (DSP) technology, meaning the units are equipped to receive and display MPEG-2 streaming video images on the screen of the touch panel and/or take MP3 and AAC audio feeds at lightning speeds. This makes them suitable for watching videos, showing security videos and camera pictures or acting as a telephone, intercom or video conferencing facility.

The Next Generation touch panels use industry standard Ethernet connectivity for both wired and wireless working, making integration and installation simple and straightforward.

The panels also feature built-in USB keyboard and mouse ports, in addition to the newly added RGB/VGA support, enabling the panel to be used as a computer screen, simplifying the user's day-to-day technology requirements.
